Planning my trip to Busan was like being a kid in a candy store - so many hotels, so little time! But with a ferry ride to Japan on the agenda, I figured, why not pick one right by the port? That's how I stumbled upon the gem that is Good Ol’ Days Hotel.
Now, this place isn't just any hotel; it's a time capsule, a portal to the past tucked away in Jungang-dong, Jung-gu, Busan. The name says it all - Good Ol’ Days. As I checked in, I was greeted with a welcome gift that included stamps and postcards. But here's the twist: I was invited to jot down my present feelings, seal them up, and they’d be sent into the future. It's like leaving a piece of yourself behind for future you to discover - how cool is that?
The lobby was like a treasure trove, with the owner's curated list of local activities and food spots that only the savvy locals knew about. And get this: there's a convenience store right across the street for those midnight munchies - talk about convenient!
Don't even get me started on the rooftop area - bean bags, movie nights, and complimentary drinks from their café upon check-in.
Now, onto the rooms. With only 9 cozy nooks to choose from, each room has its own unique charm. We snagged room 1, and boy, was it a treat. From basic toiletries to a Dyson hair dryer (yes, you read that right!), they've got you covered. The pantry was stocked with goodies like drip coffee, cup noodles, and even beer - perfect for those late-night cravings.
But the real showstopper? The technology. A record player and Bluetooth speaker set the mood, while the absence of a TV encouraged us to disconnect and unwind. And if you're feeling creative, they've got a bunch of stationery and scrapbooking tools to leave your mark and even write a postcard to your future self.
All rooms come with breakfast - a cute picnic basket with cereal, eggs and scones.
Overall, Good Ol’ Days Hotel was more than just a place to rest my head; it was an experience that left me feeling refreshed and ready for the rest of my journey.

KKristina_MinThe service was great — we got a check-in without any problems, the video instructions on how to get to the hotel from KTX and how to store luggage in the storage were helpful, and the hotel itself is located in a very convenient manner. It took us about an hour to get to the main spots of out interests — Gwangnalli Beach, Songdo Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village and so on. Also the room itself was amazing — really comfortable beds, shower with all amenities, nice massage chair. Amazing view from the windows! Great place to stay for a couple of nights in Busan.

KKitmokmokLage des Hotels 👍🏻 Das Hotel verfügt über einen Parkplatz, der für Touren mit dem eigenen Auto praktisch ist, jedoch gebührenpflichtig ist. Unten befindet sich der Haeundae Beach und dahinter der Haeundae Market mit verschiedenen Restaurants. Unten im Hotel gibt es einen 7-Eleven. Das Hotel stellt keine Zahnpasta und Zahnbürsten zur Verfügung. Sie können sie bei 7-Eleven kaufen, wenn Sie sie brauchen. Das Zimmer ist mit einem Cross-C-Kabel mit einem iPhone und einem Typ-C-Kopf ausgestattet, was sehr rücksichtsvoll ist. Im 3. Stock des Hotels gibt es kostenlose Schließfächer und es stehen auch elektronische Waagen zur Verfügung, sodass Sie das Gewicht Ihres Gepäcks überprüfen können, bevor Sie den Flughafen verlassen. Im 14. Stock des Hotels befindet sich ein Swimmingpool. Aufgrund des kalten Wetters hatten wir keine Badeanzüge dabei, aber das Schwimmbad war trotzdem sehr beliebt. Der Swimmingpool ist ein beheizter Pool mit toller Aussicht auf das Meer von Haeundae und einer kleinen Lounge daneben.

GGastnutzerDie Lage ist ausgezeichnet, nur 2 Gehminuten vom Ausgang 6 des Bahnhofs Busan entfernt. Ich habe schon einmal im Toyoko Inn in Daegu übernachtet, aber dieses ist etwas kleiner und bietet weniger Buffetoptionen. Im ersten Stock gibt es einen Geldwechselautomaten, was sehr praktisch ist. Leider ist die Toilette nicht gepflegt und auf der Toilettenbrille befindet sich nicht gereinigter Schmutz.
Auch der Gepäckaufbewahrungsservice ist gut. Auf der anderen Straßenseite gibt es vor dem Bahnhof Busan einen separaten Raucherbereich. Im gesamten Hotel ist das Rauchen verboten. Nebenan gibt es einen Supermarkt und ein Starbucks.

Das Zimmer hatte wirklich alles, was man braucht: Bademäntel, Hausschuhe, Toilettenartikel, einen LG-Schrank (ein Wunder zum Bügeln ohne etwas zu tun), eine japanische Toilette, eine Badewanne, tolle Bettwäsche und einen Fernseher mit Zugang zu Netflix für diejenigen unter Ihnen, die ohne ihn nicht schlafen können.
Wir wurden vom Personal herzlich begrüßt, das immer verfügbar ist, um praktische Fragen zu beantworten und Ihnen während Ihres Aufenthalts zu helfen.
Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und das Reinigungspersonal hat unsere Sachen nie bewegt, obwohl sie sauber gemacht haben, als wir weg waren, also haben wir nichts verloren (was für mich ein riesiges Plus ist).
Das gesamte Gebäude und die Inneneinrichtung sind wunderschön und stimmig, das Dach war das Sahnehäubchen, mit einer Lounge-Atmosphäre und einem tollen Pool.
Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen, wenn ich das nächste Mal in Busan bin, ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen!

GGastnutzerEs ist ein Ort, den ich hastig für einen spontanen Urlaub gebucht habe.
Eine dreiköpfige Familie hatte eine tolle Zeit zu einem erschwinglichen Preis.
Sie gaben mir ein Zimmer in einem oberen Stockwerk, sodass ich ein wenig aufs Meer blicken und den Sonnenaufgang beobachten konnte.
Es wurden Shampoo, Duschgel und Pflegeprodukte bereitgestellt und es war schön, dass auch ein Haartrockner, Tee, Filterkaffee und Mineralwasser zur Verfügung standen, sodass ich nur die Kleidung mitbringen musste, die ich anziehen wollte.
Die Lage ist mitten in der Innenstadt und daher sehr gut erreichbar, da Sie mit der U-Bahn oder dem Bus dorthin gelangen können. Sie müssen nicht weit gehen, um etwas zu essen oder auf dem traditionellen Markt gleich nebenan einzukaufen, daher ist es ein guter Ort, um mit Kindern zu übernachten.
Ich glaube, ich werde hier wieder übernachten, wenn ich das nächste Mal nach Haeundae bin.

GGastnutzerThe location is good as it is very close walking distance to shopping streets and the price is affordable. Room is equipped with a smart TV. I did not need to use my travel adaptor as well. Basic toiletries available. However, the bath towel is in face towel size. Clothes hanging area is on top/in front of the dresser. Things to note if staying here. Hotel is located upslope from the streets. (relatively steep) Most of the times (like a 9 out of 10), I was unable to book a taxi from my hotel due to the kakao taxi app prompting that cars cannot enter my area (they will outline the roads on the app to show the roads that cars cannot enter).I had to walk some distance out to another place to book a taxi. However, there was no restrictions to drop off at this address but many times, the driver will also drop me somewhere further away to walk in. Both the guy & lady (seems like lady boss) receptionists seems enthusiastic for a normal conversation but can become rude when we enquire or request for help. I had difficulty switching on the aircon when I first checked in and called for help. They refused to come and help and the instructions was vague as all I can understand was ”the switch is below the TV”. I later found out that it is common for aircon switch to be on the TV remote controller in Korea after I checked in to another hotel. It was after the third call when we flared up that someone came to help. But the help was of course also a rude one. Another thing to note is that they only give one access card and this access card is also the only card that manages the power in the room. If you insert another card in the slot for power, they will switch off your electricity after a while. This means you will not be able to probably sleep/shower in the room if your partner goes out since you will have to be the one to open the door, unless you can stay in the room without any power. You will also not be able to charge your phones/power banks etc while you are out and the refrigeration will also be off. The receptionist have called us via room phone and scolded us for putting a foreign card in. I think this is upsetting as we usually have more than one card in other hotels. The other hotel that I booked in Seoul even had a ready card slotted in for power and we still had 2 cards for access. Another downside: There was some form of leak from toilet bowl area and I cannot make out where its from. There will be a typical pee stench after awhile. Both the automatic bidets and manual bidets did not work in my toilet. I am not sure if this only happens in my room thus this is just for reference. Otherwise my toilet was huge and the water jet was strong. Do note that they allow early check in but it is chargeable. When I reached 2 hours earlier, I was told that their hotel does not have early check in. After asking further, they told me to pay 20,000 won if I want to check in early and I got my room immediately. I would have preferred if they told me from the start that early check in is possible for a fee.

Es gibt Zeiten, in denen beim Einchecken niemand an der Rezeption ist. Sie müssen also die Telefonnummer anrufen, die am Eingang angegeben ist (in meinem Fall war ich gerade erst angekommen, also war das kein Problem).
Es ist sicherer, eine SIM-Karte vorzubereiten, damit Sie SMS senden können.
Beim Check-in erhalten Sie einen Kartenschlüssel für den Eingang und zwei Kartenschlüssel für Ihr Zimmer.
Die Inneneinrichtung des Raumes ist in Schwarz gehalten. Es fühlte sich ein wenig klaustrophobisch an, aber es gab ein kleines Fenster.

GGastnutzerBreakfast sounds good on paper but they should do better. Amenities are not really good. Towels are kinda basic meaning they're small and not the regular towels. We arrive an hour earlier than our check in time and there was no one on the front desk...no instructions no nothing so we just have to assume that we should wait.
