Minimalistic hotel rooms well located off Silent Beach in Tangalle. Nice communal pool and a small amount of rooms makes the villa quite tranquil and never busy. The staff are wonderful and the chef cooks delicious food which is all very reasonably priced. I just recommend you stay away from beef in this country as it’s quite inedible, this seems a common theme whether you’re buying a cheap burger or an expensive beef dish. The only detractions to the accomodation was a foul odour emanating from the shower in the mornings, but it did dissipate thereafter. Also I find there is little point of an in-room safe if it isn’t bolted to the ground. You can literally walk in and pick the safe up and exit the room making it redundant. Rooms are well appointed and well priced for the area given the two luxury alternatives are the Amanwella resort which is quite dated and much more expensive and the Anantara Peace Haven which is more expensive but also a fantastic product. The local beach here is beautiful. I would stay here again, but I expect rooms will be hard to come by as the country lacks 5 star resorts at this time. I would stay here again no doubt and recommend the property.

Lankavatara offers a peaceful, secluded escape. The beach is beautiful and, for most of our stay, we had it almost entirely to ourselves. Do be aware that the sea is very rough, so it’s generally not suitable for swimming. The rooms have a rustic charm with basic amenities. While comfortable enough, I personally wouldn’t rate the property as a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi was also quite weak, which may be worth considering if you need a reliable internet connection. The staff were always willing to help when asked, although the service sometimes felt a little disingenuous and not always delivered with genuine warmth. Food service could also be quite slow at times, so it’s best to allow plenty of time for meals. One of the highlights of our stay was the surrounding area. A special mention goes to Upoint Restaurant, which serves exceptional home-cooked Sri Lankan seafood. The hosts there were incredibly welcoming and made for a memorable dining experience. Overall, we had a lovely stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, unspoilt beach, simple accommodation, and don’t mind a more relaxed pace of service, Lankavatara is a pleasant place to unwind.

We were staying in My Village as we wanted to experience safari (by third party) at Yala National Park. The area is a little more secluded but split into two sides where we put up at the rooms next to the pool. As it was raining every day whilst we stayed there, we didn't get a chance to swim but it looked great for cooling down. Our room was clean and great value. However what surprised us was the quality of food for dinner as it was prepared fresh upon order. Also enjoyed the packed breakfast they prepared for our safari. Only comment would be the number of insects and mosquitoes, but mosquito coils can be requested. Over all, a pleasant stay with efficient service and AC.

Wir lieben die wilde Atmosphäre des Resorts. Elefanten, die jederzeit und überall frei herumlaufen, sind ein wirklich einmaliges Erlebnis. Das Zimmer ist super geräumig, und der Außenwhirlpool mit Blick auf den Dschungel ist einfach fantastisch. Die bodentiefen Fenster sind großartig. Der Mitarbeiter Prabuddha hat einen tollen Job gemacht; er ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Es gehört definitiv zu den drei besten Resorts, in denen wir bisher übernachtet haben! Es ist jeden Cent wert! Absolut empfehlenswert.

Nice place for relaxing for couple days. It has big and nice pool. The pool guard (Dilash) is just amazing. He is always there to help you with everything. I hope the hotell will upgrade him. The woman in reception is aweful, she seems to be always tierd, and she never smiled, The hotel should change receptionist. We drove with our tuktuk to The hotel wich was very difficult, so dont do that!! Breakfast was ok but nothing more. There is a nice bar with a god service. Hotel rooms are little bit old.

We had a wonderful time. The hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing. They took such great care of us and really ensured our holiday was special. It's hard to mention everyone by name but a particular mention to Chandana who was our head waiter. He went above and beyond for every meal we were there, and really looked after us. Also another mention to our gentleman from the pool (I'm sorry I forgot his name), but he also was really amazing and took great care of us. There was a resident turtle in the cove which we saw every day which just made it even more amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very great to stay. Air conditioner and great hot shower provided. They would pack you the breakfast if you are going to Safari in morning.

Vielen Dank an den Manager, der uns bei der Organisation unseres Safari half. Ich möchte das seltsame Verhalten der Damen auf der Rezeption hervorheben. Nicht Kundenorientiert.

The western and Srilankan breakfast options were amazing!!
