GGastnutzerDie älteste Schmerz war die Feueralarm, die auf einem gefrorenen Wintermorgen um 7:30 Uhr ausgebrochen wurde. Dies ist bei allen Konten ein regelmäßiger Vorfall und nicht korrigiert; offensichtlich von einem Mann rauchen; 20 Minuten von ******** Ankündigungen, bevor wir von einem anderen Reisenden herausgefunden, dass es eine falsche Alarm war.
Management kinda schmied schmeckt und tat alles.
Das Badezimmer in unserem Zimmer war klein und Toiletten mussten von der Vorderseite gesammelt werden. 🙄
Ich musste Taschen hoch und unten und am Voreingang.
Der Typ, der das Essenszimmer arbeitete, obwohl auf dem Frühstückswechsel ein wenig Diamant. Nach einem ‘seltsamen’ Kommentar musste er bemerkt haben, dass ich mit dem Feueralarm ********* unimpressiert war und ging aus seinem Weg. Eine Flasche Geburtstagsblase war ein klassischer Touch von ihm. Ich würde nochmal wegen ihm dort bleiben.

GGastnutzerWe recently stayed at the Canberra Rex Hotel as a family of three, traveling from Sydney to celebrate the New Year. While there were some positive aspects, our overall experience was disappointing.
Starting with the positives, the reception staff were very nice and courteous, which we appreciated. We liked that it is very near a light rail station and quite close to parks, restaurants, and cafes.
The layout of the hotel posed challenges. Our room was quite far from the lifts, and with only two lifts positioned side by side in a corner of the building, accessibility was inconvenient. It seems the hotel design is to blame, as the lifts are not centrally located like in most hotels.
One of the biggest letdowns was the pool. We specifically chose this hotel for its pool, hoping our little one could enjoy it. Unfortunately, the pool heater was not working, and the water was freezing cold. To make matters worse, we noticed some bugs in the pool, which was unsettling. The staff wouldn’t have known the heater wasn’t working if we hadn’t informed them. It felt like the pool's maintenance and condition were overlooked, which was a major disappointment for us. Had we known that we won't be able to enjoy the pool, we would've settled in a hotel that is far more affordable.
As compensation for the pool issue, we requested and were granted a late check-out, which was a kind gesture from the hotel. However, it didn’t feel adequate given the inconvenience and disappointment we experienced.
Additionally, the King Suite we stayed in had some practical flaws. It only had one bin, which was insufficient for a family of three, as it filled up quickly. Another inconvenience was the shower area, which didn’t have any shelves. This meant we had to place shampoo and conditioner bottles on the floor while showering, which was far from ideal.
Overall, while the reception staff’s service was commendable, the hotel fell short in terms of facilities and maintenance. I hope the management takes these points into consideration for future guests.

CCYun23Booked Hyatt to celebrate my birthday and got to check in early, plus the hotel surprised us with some cute chocolates!! Kush at the front desk was really friendly and helpful as well. Definitely willing to go back!

AAlijon02Overall, the hotel is good and comfortable. The room was clean, and the location was very convenient.
However, I was a bit surprised that there was no toothbrush or toothpaste provided in the room. For a hotel of this size and standard, I believe these basic amenities should be included.
In addition, there was no bathrobe or loungewear/pajamas available for use inside the room. Having these items would definitely improve guest comfort and enhance the overall experience.
In general, it was a pleasant stay, but adding these small details would make the service even better.

GGastnutzerDisappointing, I participated in the National AGM of the largest association in the world and the hotel ran out of one of the most popular tap beer and white wine, just one hour after the guests checked-in/arrived.
The hotel advertised 1 hour happy hour every day but the Op Manager staff the bar with only one bartender. Guests lining up for half hour to get the happy hour deal, to be told, ”sorry, the 'happy hour' is finished.
The AGM room lighting set up absolutely poor, hard to see and hear anyone, the committee having to re-organise the room.
If it wasn't for the every day cleaning the room and the breakfast service, I would have ranked the hotel less than 3 stars, at @ 279/night.
I have stayed at other properties in Canberra, such as Kurajong Hotel, for less money but for exceptional experience.

Location was great for the purpose of the visit to Canberra .

Kkhushi chandraOverall, our stay at Madison Apartments was pleasant once we finally got into the room. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed — from toiletries to kitchen essentials. The A/C wasn’t working properly at the time, but it wasn’t a big issue since the weather was cool.
However, the check-in process was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I had called ahead to ask if we could check in just 30 minutes early as I wasn’t feeling well and needed to rest. Upon arriving around 1:35 pm, we were told the room wasn’t ready, which I completely understood since the official check-in time was 2 pm. But when we came back at 2:40 pm, the room was ”still not ready”. The receptionist asked us to wait another 30 minutes to an hour — we ended up waiting until almost 3:30 pm, and it was still not prepared.
It was honestly a terrible start to our stay — being sick, exhausted, and having nowhere to rest while continuously being told “just a little longer.” The receptionist was kind and apologetic, but it was clear she wasn’t getting any real updates from housekeeping. It felt disorganised and unprofessional for an apartment of this standard.
Breakfast was another letdown for $25 per person — very basic, with no hot food. Just bread, cereal, fruit in syrup, and some bakery items. The pancakes were the only saving grace. Coffee mix wasn’t good either.
Once inside, though, the apartment itself made up for it — spacious, comfortable, and had everything you could need. It’s a nice place overall, but the check-in process seriously needs improvement.

The attached washroom lacked shower curtains, which caused water to spill onto the floor. Additionally, the charging ports were too far from the beds. Overall, I was not satisfied with the stay.
