I am a Bonvoy ambassador who had visited the the JW Bogota in the past. This review reflects my second stay in Dec 2023. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of previous visits. Arrived to the hotel at 4:30pm, room was not ready, and were advised room key would be delivered to lounge. Lounge offerings were minimum, and after a 30 min wait, decided to dine in hotel restaurant. It was early, and there were five full tables. Waited 40 min to receive food after ordering and meals were cold. After receiving the meal, it took another ten min to get the attention of the waiter for reheating. In all, service delivery and food quality was not memorable. Zero service recovery was offered. Now, approx. 6pm, returned to the front desk for room keys, success they were now avail, even though we arrived after published checkin time. We were please to receive a room upgrade to a jr exec suite, the room upgrade we’ve received as an ambassador during prior visits. Decided to go to the executive lounge for drinks. To our surprise, liquor selection was different from previous stays, even one week earlier offered a larger selection. I had one drink my husband two. Returned to the lounge for two additional and was advised there was a two person drink max, and would be charged for both. Again, we only ordered three drinks earlier, this was explained, but the lounge attendant insisted in expensing to our room. This was a one stay, frustrations were communicated at checkout and received a thank you. Historically, I traveled through Bogota intentionally as I have come to enjoy time at the JW. This experience will prompt me to seek alternatives.
