Nice one night stay here - there was a water line break in town so could not try the restaurant - bed was comfortable and there was a choice of pillows. Bring your cord and plug as no usb plugs in rooms. Very quiet and nice area at the lake with kayaks and canoes for use.

We had a great experience at Grand Ely Lodge! From the friendly front desk check-in process to the bartender and housekeeping staff! Everyone was helpful, efficient and pleasant to speak with. We stayed on a ground level lakeview room and it was beautiful! I loved sitting on the bar 2nd floor deck while watching the sun set over the lake. Thank you for a magical time - we are excited to come back again!

This restaurant is absolutely excellent, so excellent we went to dinner there a second time even though we weren’t staying on the property. We had the Walleye filets, panfried. It came with a choice of soup or salad, choice of potato & a hot roll. (They offer two filets for an upcharge, but honestly we couldn’t eat anymore!) The service was excellent, and the price for all that food was $18.50 per serving!

Went here for my wife's Birthday. Excellent place to get away from everything. Very clean and cozy with good service. The on-site restaurant was also very good. With a nice menu selection and also good bar. The one issue I had with this place was the snow-mobiliers coming in out of the snow smelling like oil and gas and filling up the place with fumes. The smell only lasted a little while but was nauseating at the time. The should have a separate "mud room" area for these people to come in through.

Grand Ely Lodge is a lovely little respite. I stayed for a night after coming out of a big trip in the BWCA. It was clean, cozy, comfortable, had all the amenities and is close to all Ely has to offer. There was a little snafu with my reservation but Margie the manager took great care of me and quickly remedied the situation. Would definitely recommend and will be staying here again.

We arrived late without a reservation and got the last room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has lots of amenities and the room was spacious and clean. Lots of families staying here with kids enjoying the facilities. Would definitely come back.

We ate in the restaurant. The food as delicious. The building is cute from the outside but it needs updating. Carpeting in the dining room. No! The bathroom needs updating. Mirrors were losing the slivering. The location is gorgeous. Right on a lake.

We had an amazing experience at Grand Lodge. Very comfortable room with lots of space and a gorgeous lake view. We were there early in the week and had the entire indoor pool and hot tub to ourselves. The food at the restaurant was delicious - very typical Minnesota fare. Our favorite part of the trip was using the kayaks on the lake, which is included in the resort fee. We will definitely visit the Grand Lodge in the future.

Stayed for one night on our venture between Voyageurs NP and the shore. Pros: lakeside location. Inclusive of non motor water sports ( we did pedal pontoon and hydro bikes). Complimentary coffee in am. Superficially clean. Staff are friendly and nice. Cons : mattress/pillow getting too soft for my liking. I dropped something on the floor and went to pick it up noticing other peoples trash under the sofa.
