Read all the positive reviews so stayed here one night. The room is very basic yet $164 USD Without Breakfast. The most Uncomfortable bed I have ever experienced...Overused Soft mattress that had us sliding into the middle. It does not feel like a B&B...just a couple of rooms that were perhaps a former apartment. So feels like a college dorm. No comfortable area to sit and relax, no person on site...but you are Very Monitered by cameras. Although Giovanna has a pleasant manner, I did not appreciate her asking if I entered the room again after check out...I would not do that and I did not even have the key! Which she knew. This is overpriced for what it is and not a comfortable welcoming experience. I have stayed at the Excelsior before and I can happily recommend that hotel instead!

Adorable B&B in the most ideal location in Citta Alta Bergamo. Easy to get to by taxi from the train station. Giovanna is a very pleasant and helpful host! The rooms are large, clean and well decorated with the "love" theme. Once the entry door from the street closes you enter a quiet medieval environment with the tower view fromt he courtyard. I would say here again!

Fabulous stay at the absolute heart of Citta Alta in Bergamo. Giovanna is a very pleasant and helpful host we would love to stay here again! Cosy, clean and well decorated rooms :) Hope to be back here in the future!

We had a lovely weekend here,the room we had was great and it is Situated right in the heart of the old town with loads of restaurants and sites to visit. We will definitely be back here again in the near future when we visit bergamo again and cannot recommend it enough.

Stayed for 2 nights - this was a fantastic find. Quiet, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The situation is fantastic- right in the heart of the city Alta. Perfect for a short stay. Loved the experience of staying in a residential area. Giovanna the host could not have been more friendly and helpful. A big thumbs up. Don’t hesitate to book if you are planning a stay.

We stayed three nights at B&B San Lorenzo in April 2023. It’s situated across a courtyard accessible through a door on the lively Via Gombito, a few steps away from Piazza Vecchia, the center of Bergamo Alta. Our room was spacious, quiet, spotlessly clean & really comfortable. The proprietor Giovanna & her husband met us at the property when we arrived. We saw much of Giovanna during our stay. She could not have been nicer, kinder or more helpful. Giovanna provided us with suggestions for walks in the upper town of which we took immediate advantage. If you resist the temptation to stop for coffee along the way, it's a 15 minute walk from the train station to the funicular which for 2 euros takes you up to Bergamo Alta, & from there a two-minute walk to the B&B (one can also take a 5 minute taxi ride to the funicular station). For breakfast we were given 2 cards/day, exchangeable for coffee & croissants at Caffé del Tasso on Piazza Vecchia (peaceful at 8 AM, busy by afternoon) - - a beautiful & memorable way to begin each day. For the entirety of our visit we felt like “cittadini di Città Alta.” The upper town is stunning, unique & fun to explore, & we loved the B&B. Grazie per tutto Giovanna. Ci vediamo (di sicuro) la prossima volta che visiteremo Bergamo.

So appy to have stayed here. Giovanna was an extremely helpful and friendly owner. The location was exactly in the centre of Città Alta. The rooms were spotless and each had air conditioning, which turned out to be essential in the hot August weather. Would highly recommend San Lorenzo B&B.

What to tell about San Lorenzo’s what isn’t already told? Its indeed a perfectly located B&B, right in the center of Bergamo. Rooms are just great enough, very cozy and clean, bathroom included. The typical Italian breakfast was served in café del Tasso (oldest cafe in Bergamo), about 100 metres further. Last nut not least, Giovanna, the lady of the house, is just perfect. From the first letter in her mail (one year ago) untill the last words when we leaved Bergamo, she breaths the love for her city, her B&B and her guests😀😀. Keep doing this Giovanna👌👌.

I spent 3 nights in that beautiful place. It's extraordinary and really outstanding. Here you will find love in every little detail... and the B&B is perfectly located in the heart of Bergamo Citti Alta. The rooms are very comfortable and lovingly furnished. The breakfast is offered in a Café only some steps away. Giovanna is a remarkably attentive and extremely personable host. I've never met such an owner... I really recommend this B&B San Lorenzo from the bottom of my heart!!!
