Duan’s Quadrangle Inn

A Chinese style courtyard hotel modernised to great standards comparable to excellent hotel chain. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Checkin is done at the tourist Center. You could also purchase the Gubei water town entrance ticket at the same time at half price. Staff will give clear instructions on the process. There’s a connecting bus which will bring you to a stop near the hotel. The hotel is right outside the Simatai Great Wall ticketing counter. There’s a in house restaurant with excellent hot pot dinner. Great comfortable stay for 2 nights at Gubeikou.

Great simple inn that was suitable for us as a couple. Not that big but comfortable enough. Location was perfect for us as we wanted to visit the Simatai section of the Great Wall. The inn is only few steps from the entrance to the cable-car that takes you up to the Great Wall. Room had heater to keep us warm in the night and hot water showers. Simple breakfast selection with a mix of western and chinese options and overall tasted good. While I didn't get to try out their in-house hot spring bath, it's good to know they have that facility for the guest. Staff were friendly and helpful (as much as they could with the language barrier) and went about their work quietly. All in all, a great accommodation for a simple overnight stay. Also good that for guests staying inside the Gubei Water Town, there is complimentary shuttle bus service from the main car park to the in/hotel and also within the town. Including transporting your luggage to your inn / hotel.

I like the location where located next to Great Wall entrance ticket booth. Hot spring is available inside the hotel and quality is good. The hotel has impressive styling of traditional Chinese. Breakfast was okay, too.

Located right at the foothill of the entrance of the Simatai Great Wall, this hotel offers the perfect stay for people looking for an affordable place to spend the night. The hot spring although is within the hotel premises, but is also available to people not staying at the hotel. This however proved to be more crowded. Otherwise, it's a perfect quaint stay.
