Having booked the Hotel with accompanying request for a room suitable for a wheelchair and accessibility bathroom, we arrived to find none of these requests had been addressed. Initially we were put in a room on the 3rd floor and albeit a lift was operating, in the event of a fire I would have to negotiate several flights of stairs. The room was too small to accommodate a wheelchair and the bathroom unsuitable. We were then moved to a groundfloor room which was better but not ideal. We were told the disability room had been occupied that afternoon but given there were no other wheelchair users must have been for more able bodied people than myself. On our 3rd day we were able to move to this room (4) for our remaining 4 nights. It was in the other building of the hotel and steps needed to be negotiated. There were mobile ramps available but this was very awkward and time consuming as you had to ask a member of staff to set them up. There were some other smaller issues that need to be addressed regarding some waiters. Both my Husband and I believe that it would be a good training exercise for staff to spend a day in a wheelchair and realise what difficulties there are and what could be improved. In addition parking was an issue yet there is a hote car park behind the main building yet on the first night we were directed to park elsewhere. Again not helpful if you need the car and your space could not be guaranteed if you did get a hotel parking space. All these things could easily be improved without great cost. On the good side, the rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful when they realised my difficulties. It seems that if you do have mobility problems then you need to book and deal with the Hotel direct and not with a booking agency as once they have your booking, they fail to ensure it will be suitable despite any requests made at time of booking. This needs to be addressed by these booking agencies as it occurred several times during our 7 week visit touring the UK. Our best experiences were The Bruntssfield Hotel in Edinburgh and The White Hart Hotel in Lincoln.

It was dirty and underwhelming. Fan provided was dusty, toilet is small and squeezy as well.

Positive- great location, tea and coffee available from the room, friendly and helpful staff. Negative- the kettle station not working, the bed is extremely small for 2 adults, it is more for 1 person, small bathroom. Overall cleanliness is to be improved.

Amazing location and character for this heritage property, located close to the key sights of Bath. Only a 15 min walk from the train station, the hotel is a hidden gem!

The location is quite convenient to walk to the scenic spots, but the cleanliness of the room seems is not so good. Especially there is a bad smell comes from the one we lived for one night. The staff of it is quite polite and helpfully.

Had to cancel due to medical emergency notified hotel earlier in day and they still charged me and as of yet still have not responded. Will not use again

Lovely hotel. Small and compact. Located right near bus station and short walk to train station. Highly recommended

If you ever wanted to pretend you lived in a Georgian house, as if you were in a Jane Austen novel or in Bridgerton then you will not be disappointed staying here. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hotel was only a few minutes away from the centre of Bath, Holburn Museum and was an easy walk from the bus/train station. I will stay here again.

The hotel is situated on a beautiful road with amazing buildings surrounding it. It is pretty much a stone’s throw away from where all of the shops, bars, and cafes are. The staff are extremely friendly, always smiling as they greet you. They act professionally and even give you ideas and suggestions for tours. The room we had wonderfully tall walls and high ceiling, however, the carpet for the floor hurt our feet to walk on, so I would suggest taking slippers (we did not take any unfortunately). All in all, it was a great place to stay with a delicious breakfast the morning after. Would definitely stay there again.
