Great hotel within walking distance to ***a Night Market/ ***a street. The staff is good & friendly, the only problem we are facing is bed bugs. The room looks very clean, I wonder why there are bed bugs ... ? We are happy with the vegetarian-friendly breakfast, and 7-Eleven within 5 mins walking distance if you need anything.

We arrived at 8.00pm. Checked in and was given a room that has occupants in it. Was shocked to open the door and saw a bag in the room. Luckily the guest was not in the room After we went back to the reception and the receptionist gave us another room. The room that we got on 10th floor, the glass windows is frosted and blocked the view!!! We ordered room service, the food arrived an hour and 20 mins later. Luckily the food we ordered tasted good .

The room was super small. But the location is in the heart of everything. Walking distance to eateries. Downside was, 1 room only 1 access card.. wpuld be nice to have 2. Unlimited access to parking lot.. thats a plus Recommended

Ich landete am frühen Morgen in Kota Kinabalu, verließ das Land reibungslos, schnappte mir das seidenweiche Hotel und buchte ein vorübergehendes Hotel zum Schlafen. Die Erwartungen wurden übertroffen und der Aufenthalt verlief reibungslos. Die Fahrt mit dem Taxi vom Flughafen dauert etwa 10 Minuten. Es ist ziemlich ruhig, der Fluglärm hört man erst gegen 6:50 Uhr morgens. In diesem Preis sind auch zwei Frühstücke enthalten, was im Vergleich zu Resorts definitiv nicht schlecht ist. Es ist eine gute Wahl für einen vorübergehenden Zwischenstopp. Gleich gegenüber der Überführung vor McDonald's und auf der anderen Seite der Oststraße liegt Daqilai. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist recht hoch.

We stayed there for my youngest sister's convocation day. The distance from the airport is bearable and near to every attraction of Kota Kinabalu. It was a great experience staying there as the room is spacious and clean. There was an outdoor swimming pool at level 3. The lobby is spacious and is comfortable for the Grab car pick-up and drop-off service. The staff were so friendly and their customers' service were very good. I will definitely come here again.

Stayed for 3 nights Day1 stay checked in around 330pm and it was smooth, we were assigned a room in which on my request. Wifi was strong, water pressure was superb, it has a damp(wet) carpet spot till the end of our stay. Day2 breakfast was below average, unlike before, the variety was below par. Quality of the food wise average. We asked for room cleaning(tidy) but since 1100am till 4pm when we back from our errands, the room was still untidy. But we called the passer by cleaning team for towels change and other amenities replenishment Day3 breaksfast was like day2, less variety. Day4 breakfast like same day2 and day3, if it werent included in our booking, i would rather buy outside. 3 nights stay was ok but the question remains, maybe i would recommend but i will come back if the breakfast choices improve Overall stay: 3.7/5.0

Well maintained resort and good service. Breakfast spread is good and yummy. Harbour is just 5-10 mins walk away to take boat ride to the Tunku Abdul Rahman islands. Boat ride is only about 15-20mins to the islands. Lovely great swimming pools for both adults and kids and a small private beach for snorkeling. Rooms are clean and spacious. Sunset is beautiful. Love the stay and we will be back. Thank you!

Booked a double room, but given a twin room - that's fine. Broken faucet, dirty kettle, creaky bed - just wanna rest the night, so its okay. Toothbrush, soap, shampoo - that's a plus. Grumpy check in reception, laid back checkout operator - maybe a norm. Overall, its for resting so should suffice. Wish the attendants could be more helpful and friendly, while the room booking followed to the book. I'm sorry, it might sound like a bad review, but its expected. Worth a ponder. Keep it up! 👍🏻👍🏻

Exzellenter Service, besonders Frau Razy, sie stellte uns ein besseres Zimmer für ein Upgrade vor, schöne Aussicht, sauberes und komfortables Zimmer. Die Aussicht auf den Sonnenuntergang ist ausgezeichnet! Vielen Dank ! Inselhoffnung ist ein Muss! Jetty befindet sich im Hotel, sehr praktisch für Hotelgäste. Die Mitarbeiter von Star Marina sind freundlich, bieten uns auch guten Service und Ratschläge zum Schnorcheln, wir zahlen auch für ”Fun Fun” -Aktivitäten, es war ausgezeichnet, wir werden unserer Familie auf jeden Fall vorstellen, in diesem Hotel zu übernachten. Eine große Auswahl zum Frühstück und gutes chinesisches Essen im Shang-Palast. Wenn Sie mit 10 Personen anreisen, können Sie die Pekingente im Voraus buchen, sie sieht so lecker aus! Insgesamt ist es für Familien und Paare einen Aufenthalt wert, sehr entspannend und ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!

On our way to Cabana Retreat, we saw a couple of cows at the roadside. Since I wanted to take some photos, my friend made a U-turn so that I could capture a few. One cow was a shade of white & it looked quite tame & docile. The road leading to our retreat was very quiet. We hardly saw any cars & passed a jetty signboard. We arrived at 3:00 pm & managed to park our rented car near the Resort’s entrance. I went straight to the Front desk to check-in & to get our keys to our quad-tent. Thankfully, our quad-tent was located near to the common bathroom. We had chosen a quad-tent because the 4 of us wanted to have a glamping experience together. Unfortunately, one friend had to leave. Thus, there was 1 empty mattress on a wooden pallet which we had used to put all our food. Although the quad-tent was compact, it came equipped with an air-cooler, a standing fan, a small wooden table & chair, a wicker basket that was used as a wastepaper basket, a long mirror & a small area to hang our clothes. There was also a steel shoe rack. Throw pillows were given on each bed. The sheets & blankets were of hotel quality while the mattress was comfortable enough though I could still feel the wooden pallets underneath it all. The material covering our tents was of high quality too & we had double tent zippers for safety & protection. Our 2-day package came with free activities on the beach. Unfortunately, the staff was not available to teach us to handle the paddleboat. Hence, we had to forgo the non-motorised activities. My 2 friends decided to rest in the tent but I decided to walk on the beach. Strangely enough, I saw many cows on the beach! They were going for the waves. As it was starting to drizzle, I left the beach & headed back to the tent. Our package also included a Firefly experience on our 1st night. However, we had to drive to the jetty ourselves. When we arrived, we mentioned the name of our Hotel & were given admittance into the boat. The host, a middle-aged man told us to be quiet while he summoned the fireflies to our direction. It was such an awesome magical experience when the fireflies started appearing before your very eyes. Even if it’s not in the package, please make sure that you go for this activity. The next morning, we had breakfast at the Coffee House as it was included in the package. We were given a selection to choose from, either American or local meals. They were freshly made & tasty. The scenery was of the beach. There were also a few swings for guests to enjoy on underneath a roof. Outdoor tables, chairs & benches were provided on the beach where guests could enjoy their breakfast with the sand underneath their feet. There were many cats & dogs around the vicinity. Most probably they were strays. We saw a rooster trying to chase away a mangy dog. Throughout our stay, we would buy some food & feed the cats, dogs & rooster. In short, all meals – breakfast, lunch & dinner were at the Coffee House. We didn’t feel a need to
