Sandpiper Motel Apollo Bay Bewertungen

We stayed one night at the Sandpiper Motel in Apollo Bay during peak season. On the positive side, the room was exceptionally clean, and the embroidered details on the bedding, pillow slips, and face towel were a lovely touch that added a sense of care and thoughtfulness to the decor. However, our stay was not without its issues. Room 5; Throughout the night, there was a persistent high-pitched noise whenever water was used in our block of rooms, which disrupted our sleep, not helpful if you are a light sleeper. This was particularly disappointing given the cost of over 500 NZD for one night. Additionally, while the self-check-in process was efficient, the lack of any staff presence left the motel feeling impersonal and made it impossible to seek assistance when needed. For example, there was no way to address the plumbing issue or request additional items like more face towels during our stay. While we appreciated the cleanliness and the attention to detail in the room design, these other factors made the experience less enjoyable than we had hoped. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.

Perfect place to stay for a one night stop on the Great Ocean Road. Cheap and cheerful!

The Motel was difficult to find, the address provided by trip is not correct. It is a bit outside the town center and quiet in the night, the kitchen is not well equipped, you cannot cook.

Cute little cozy place to stay ☺️ easy self check in and check out, very convenient. i got a lower level room which make it a bit noisy when someone upstairs walk or do anything. But overall it was a nice stay🌷

Had a pleasure stay with sandpiper. Was surprised to see the reception office was closed but all the instructions were there. The team wrote names on an envelope and further instructions inside the envelope. We went during the start of winter of our Great Ocean Road trip and homggggggg the wind!!!!! I kid you not - I joked to my husband for bringing winter jacket. There is no mercy! Haha. So I had to get a down jacket from the mall before the start of my journey. Our room was closest to the reception but the carpark area was the other end of the venue (not that far lah) but with 2 huge luggages and 2 carry ons, it was a tad hassle ah. Heating was slow and soft - bo pian ah. Rather have it then none at all cos at night, its really cold sia. No joke. The cold air from outside like hang out outside our room. The nozzle from the hair dryer broke. It wasn’t me ok. Luckily I wear hijab so just make it dry can liao. Got bowl, plates, cups, kettle, fridge, tv (not smart). Basic for your short stay. That’s all! Will come back to stay here if I come here again (: Oh! They do have diy laundry from 0800-2000. Never try cos no time.

Great place to stay while exploring on the great ocean road. Room was good size and it’s close enough to restaurants in town.

Clean and comfortable. Just good for 2 in a room. Good amenities with laundry facility. There is heater in the room and big double bed.

Overall we enjoyed our short stay here, the room is spacious and clean. You have all the needs you need, eg ironing board, toaster, hairdryer and etc .. The self check in is simple, just grab the key from the door. However, there were no one at the counter throughout our stay, it’s quite inconvenient if you need to get help urgently. They do provide an urgent number to call, but I’m glad our stay was pleasant here. The location is quite good as well, short walk to the beach and some nearby restaurants. All walkable distance :)

Big room, big toilet, big jacuzzi tub. Nice and clean room. Recommended!

Good for a night of stay. Bathroom is spacious. Unfortunately, they don't have a microwave.
