Hotel De Witte Lelie

This is a magnificent and exquisite hotel at the centre of Antwerp close to the old town. The building itself is approximately 400 years old and full of charm. Really beautiful. The staff is very professional, welcoming and helpful. As well as happy and smiling 😊 The interior decoration is amazing with beautiful rooms and open spaces. We stay at the #7 which is very spacious with lovely tapestry and other details. All done by a belgian interior decorator . Dogs are allowed ( 😀 ) and the interior garden is very nice.

We were in Antwerp for a mother and daughter trip. De Witte Lelie is a charming hotel in a beautiful central location in Antwerpen. When we checked in my daughter could choose a room from the ones available: it was her birthday. The staff is professional, polite, kind, friendly and charming. There was always a smile from Nem for us when we left the hotel in the morning and a smile from William when we came back in the evening. We would have stayed a fourth night (last minute) but, unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked. The last night we found a lovely birthday cake upon our return at the hotel. It was such a kind and thoughtful surprise! The rooms are stunning, all with a different design. The hotel is clean, the room service impeccable. There is attention for details at all levels. We can’t wait to be back here next time!

By far the most unique stay I’ve experienced during my trip in Europe. The hotel’s interior design is so expressive and wonderful, we fell in love!! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helped make our time at De Witte Lelie exceptional! Highly recommend!

This used to be our favourite spot in Antwerp. But it is over the hill, unfortunately. Very noisy, (make sure that in any event you don’t get a room on the front side!), rooms are not up to standard anymore (leaky showers, curtains don’t close), and staff unhelpful (if already visible). Breakfast was yesterday’s bread.

We just left after a three night stay in room 3, the “Presidential Suite.” This hotel purports to be a “small luxury hotel,” but most of the details that define such an establishment are simply not present. On arrival, we were greeted by a sign on the otherwise unmarked and locked front door that the doorbell was only working intermittently and giving a phone number for entry. With only one employee on duty to cover the entire hotel, this led to patrons waiting outside in the rain waiting for someone to open the door. My wife and I also got stuck in their tiny two person elevator for almost an hour until the one employee on duty could summon a repair person to free us…and then the sole elevator remained unusable for the remainder of our stay. Our suite lacked bath towels when we checked in, and the area outside of our door was filled with crates containing all of the hotel’s clean linens. I might also add that the suite’s air conditioning was bizarre, as the bedroom remained freezing cold while the sitting area was unvented and barely cool despite the freezing bedroom. The staff was friendly but this is by no means a real luxury hotel in any respect…and fails in the all important value for money category as well.

My husband and I recently had the joy of staying four nights at Hotel De Witt Lelie in Antwerp. We were there because it was my 50th birthday, and we wanted to celebrate in style. My husband booked a junior suite, and we were assigned room 9, which is definitely the funkiest room I've ever stayed in at a hotel. Long and triangular, this room has an excellent bed, a well stocked complimentary minibar, and wallpaper that made me feel like I was in a glass of champagne! The bathroom had a wall decorated with Marilyn Monroe's face on wallpaper and beautiful shiny turquoise tile. We loved the Hermes toiletries, huge bathtub, and the great shower. We required parking, and I will warn that the garage is small, and has a steep incline/decline that can be tough to maneuver, especially if you have a SUV, as we do. However, there are nine spaces available for ten rooms. I had thought we might drive somewhere outside of Antwerp, but given the crazy one way streets, we decided to just enjoy the city. We also booked breakfast, which was very substantial and of high quality. I particularly enjoyed the fresh orange juice and excellent breads. On the morning of my birthday, I was even presented with a delicious strawberry tart and champagne! While the facilities at Hotel De Witte Lelie are certainly first class, I especially enjoyed the very friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble. They really helped make my big day special! I hope we can visit again, as Antwerp is an awesome city, and we really did enjoy the hotel very much! Thanks so much to the staff for showing us such a great time! We hated to leave!
