We stayed here last night as we were going to The 10cc concert. Arrival was swift and easy and the room was already available. Our room was a junior suite facing North Terrace, it was clean and quiet. We enjoyed 2 complimentary drinks from the bar. They have refurbished the hotel but I think the bar looks a touch bland and not welcoming. I would have thought that there would have been sanitiser available on all levels by the lifts and in the room also. The shampoo, soap etc no longer comes as individual packs but huge bottles and being still in Covid times I thought this a bit off putting. Breakfast was ok nothing special and luckily we had ours included or it would have cost us $42.00 per person and it was not worth that much. The pre-made pancakes were freezing cold. There was a good range of cereals and the fruit plates were nice but had defrosted and tinned fruit also. I found all the supposedly hot foods not hot but cool venturing on cold and they need to do something about the baked beans as they were nasty. We had a slight hiccup on leaving as we were almost charged for two glasses of red wine which we quickly told the receptionist we never had. She amended that quickly so all good.

A truly amazing experience, everyone who is involved here is friendly and so accommodating from the moment we walked in. The room is very comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant is top class, the guy running food and beverage is in a class of his own, he has made our stay an experience. Cannot recommend it enough we will make this our place to stay on our visits to Adelaide.

Die Wohnungen sind vernünftig gut ausgestattet und haben eine Decke bis zur Erdgeschosslänge, die gute Aussichten auf die Umgebung der Stadt bietet. Jedes der Schlafzimmer war eine angemessene Größe und hatte ein Königsbett (zwei Singles zusammen - vernünftig komfortable) mit einem Betttisch und Leselampe auf beiden Seiten. Es gab ein großes Wäscheschrank in beiden Schlafzimmern sowie einen Stuhl. In einem der Schlafzimmern war ein Flachbild-TV auf der Wand. Im kombinierten Essen/Lounge und Küchenbereich gab es einen runden Essenstisch mit vier Stühlen, eine zwei-Sitz-Lounge (mit einem geringsten Rücken, der ziemlich unkomfortabel war), einen Einzelsitz, einen Kaffeetisch, Zwei niedrige Rückkehr - eine mit Stereo und die andere mit einem Flachbild-TV, einem separaten Schreibtisch und einem Stuhl und einer stand-alone Lampe. Die Küche verfügt über einen vollen Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Kochplatte, Backofen, Geschirrspüler, Kessel, Toaster, Tee- und Kaffeemaschine sowie eine grundlegende Anordnung von Platten, Kleiderschrank, Gläser und Essgeräte für mindestens vier Personen. Es gab auch einige Kochgeräte. Das Badezimmer hatte eine Dusche im Badezimmer (der Druck war gut) sowie eine Waschmaschine und Trockner. Es gab eine erste Lieferung von Waschmaschine, Geschirrspüler und Waschmaschine Flüssigkeit. Das WIFI war eingeschlossen und funktionierte gut. Es gab auch einen Safe sowie ein Kleidung airer (die letzte vom Rezeption). Es gab eine kleine runde, die mit Stühlen auf dem Balkon fähig war. Zimmer und Badezimmer waren sehr sauber bei der Ankunft. Das Zimmer wurde täglich mit Ausnahme von Sonntag serviert, obwohl es Raum für Verbesserungen im täglichen Reinigen gab. Personal auf Rezeption bei Ein- und Auscheck waren hervorragend und es gab keine Schwierigkeiten bei der Lagerung unserer Taschen. Lage ist hervorragend. In weniger als 10 Minuten zu Fuß können Sie die Zentralmärkte oder Rundle Mall besuchen. Es gibt auch eine gute Anzahl von Cafés und Restaurants in der Nähe.

The Grand is without a doubt all about the location! Given it’s ocean front position it should offer an absolute premium experience but instead falls a little short as it continues to date without much sign of refurbishment. The rooms are basic, the carpets old, the furnishings aging and everything just feels in need of some love. Bathrooms still have showers over the bath with shower curtains and the air con in the room wasn’t very effective (too hot despite being on the coolest setting). There was also a wedding being hosted during my 1 night stay and despite my room being on the 5th floor (ballroom is on level 1), I could hear the band/music until the end of the reception at 11:30pm. On the positive (besides premium location), the staff at reception / concierge were excellent. They greeted with absolute care on arrival and happiness during check out, despite being early in the morning. It felt like they enjoyed what they did and that’s so good to see in customer facing roles. Worth considering this hotel for a stay, just as long as you’re happy with basic ammenities in a great location.

Decided to try he Arkaba Hotel bistro twice during my stay in Adelaide. I'm glad I did. Whilst this is a huge complex that has the bistro, pokies, sports bar and accomodation, it is a family friendly place that is well patronised. When I was there on a Friday and Sunday night, the dining room was bustling, with diners having a meal before theatre/comedy shows and birthday celebrations, in addition to the usual casual dining. On Friday night, I tried the sourdough garlic bread with cheese, which had some nice density to it, grilled to perfection with stretchy cheese. Then I had the beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was crunchy and I really liked the mushroom sauce - lots of mushrooms in a possible cream of mushroom soup base. Lots of crispy chips were on the plate too. When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy. The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer. Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro. All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.

Gut gelegen. Ein paar Minuten Busfahrt vom Stadtzentrum! Der pub unten ist wirklich schön. Gutes Essen und gute Atmosphäre.

Das Hotel ist nur wenige Minuten vom Hotel entfernt, aber es war kein Problem, da wir am Morgen zum Ausblick und erst nach dem Abendessen aus waren. Wir haben also unseren Wagen entlang Liverpool St parken, die kostenfrei übernachtet Parkplatz anbietet. Die Oval Station, die Bahnhofsstation und die Rundle Mall sind alle nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Wir wurden ein Eckeszimmer auf dem 2. Stock gegeben, das war HUGE. Das Zimmer war etwas datiert, aber es war sauber und funktional.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to be close to the city and without too much noise. The queen room I had was fabulous! The shower and bathroom products were particularly divine. The breakfast facilities are wonderful too!! I would stay here again 🤩
