The rooms, the corridors, the building in general is clearly dating, but management resorts to one of the oldest tricks in the trade: keep a decent lobby, just to save face. Quite large (50, 80 even 160 people) overnight groups from places not known for their high sanitation standards travelling on low-cost tours along with guests more used to hostels than hotels, some of them carrying huge dogs, seem to be its market niche. Imagine. In all fairness, Hotel de la Ville delivers the quality corresponding exactly to the price it charges, thus meaning: cheap is cheap and a four-stars, in reality, is a two-stars. I should not complain either about a €3 breakfast even if it includes staled cornetti, runny scrambled eggs, expired milk, badly kept yoghurt, awful coffee and ¾ foam, rather cold capuccinos or a $80 room with bad housekeeping. To add insult to injury, Hotel de la Ville is located in a tough neighborhood where strange, suspicious characters from a shelter next door continuously hover around the property, especially at night.

E ci siamo trovati bene anche al ristorante dell’hotel. Comodo per visitare, oltre a Vicenza, Venezia, Verona, Padova, le ville venete e altro.

Einen komfortablen Aufenthalt, ein paar Minuten zu Fuß zum Stadtzentrum plus vielleicht 10 Minuten zu einem Aldi. Die Rezeption ist 24 Stunden offen und das Personal war freundlich und professionell. Unser Zimmer war ziemlich groß, sauber und komfortabel - ein bisschen gekommen, konnte wirklich eine Renovierung verwenden, aber es tat die Arbeit. Klimaanlage funktionierte gut, wir hatten ein Kühlschrank und alles, was wir brauchen. Viel Lagerung, zusätzliche Kuchen 👍 Das Frühstück war gut - eine Auswahl an Pflaumen, Getreide, Obst, Joghurt und Brot/Toast plus Eier, Bacon usw. Espresso aus der Maschine war nicht groß, aber oh gut. Meine einzige wirkliche Beschwerde war, dass unser Zimmer einen Innenhof übersehen hat, der von Lautsprechern ständig verwendet wurde (nicht sicher, ob das andere Gäste mit offenen Fenstern waren).

This hotel was very convenient to get into the centre of Vicenza on foot. It was very clean and functional. However, what was completely outstanding was all the staff. Every single person we encountered was unfailingly, helpful polite, kind pleasant.

Wir waren fünf Nächte in Vicenza. Das Hotel verfügt über eine fantastische Lage mitten in der Stadt. Alles ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind sehr großzügig. Das Frühstück war auch lecker, könnte für Vegetarier allerdings etwas mehr Auswahlmöglichkeiten bereithalten. Auf Wünsche wurde aber immer individuell eingegangen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
