Quarantäne
·Passengers may read more information about specific conditions for travelling to Hong Kong here.
·Passengers must quarantine on arrival in Hong Kong under the following conditions:

Unvaccinated passengers: 

  1. Residents of Hong Kong that are not vaccinated who have stayed in any Group B (Medium Risk) area in the past 14 days must quarantine for 21 days in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH). They will also be subject to 6 tests during the compulsory quarantine. Unvaccinated non-residents of Hong Kong who have stayed in any Group B (Medium Risk) area in the past 14 days are not permitted to enter Hong Kong;
  2. Unvaccinated passengers who have stayed in any Group B (Medium Risk) area in the past 14 days must quarantine for 14 days in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH), followed by subsequent 7-day self-monitoring. They will also be subject to 4 tests during the compulsory quarantine, and compulsory testing on the 16th and 19th day after arriving in Hong Kong;
  3. Unvaccinated passengers who have stayed in any Group C (Low Risk) area in the past 21 days must quarantine for 14 days in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH), followed by subsequent 7-day self-monitoring. They will also be subject to 4 tests during the compulsory quarantine, and compulsory testing on the 16th and 19th day after arriving in Hong Kong.

Vaccinated passengers: 

  1. Passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (including their unvaccinated accompanying minors aged younger than 12 years) who hold a recognised vaccination certificate and who have stayed in any Group B (Medium Risk) area in the past 14 days must quarantine for 14 days in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH), followed by subsequent 7-day self-monitoring. They will also be subject to 4 tests during the compulsory quarantine, and compulsory testing on the 16th and 19th day after arriving in Hong Kong;
  2. Passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (including their unvaccinated accompanying minors aged younger than 12 years) who hold a recognised vaccination certificate and who have stayed in any Group C (Low Risk) area in the past 21 days must quarantine for 7 days in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH), followed by subsequent 7-day self-monitoring. They will also be subject to 2 tests during the compulsory quarantine, and compulsory testing on the 9th, 12th, 16th and 19th day after arriving in Hong Kong. 

Other passengers: Residents of Hong Kong who have stayed in any Group A (High Risk) area in the past 21 days must quarantine for 4 days on arrival at the Quarantine Center and take a daily Covid-19 for the first 7 days after arrival. Passengers will be transferred to a designated quarantine hotel (DQH) on day 5 where they must quarantine for the remaining 17 days and they must take a Covid-19 test every other day.

COVID-19-Tests
·Passengers must hold a negative PCR-based nucleic acid test result conducted within 48 hours before departure.

The negative PCR test result must include the following:

  1. The negative result of a PCR-based nucleic acid (Molecular, PCR, RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, RT-qPCR, NAAT, TrueNAT, CBNAAT, LAMP) test for Covid-19, and it must also include the name of the passenger that is stated on their travel documents;
  2. Must state that the test sample was taken within 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure, and the test conducted on the sample is a polymerase chain reaction-based nucleic acid test for Covid-19; and
  3. Documentary proof in English or Chinese to show that the laboratory or healthcare institution is ISO 15189 accredited or is recognised or approved by the relevant authority of the government. A separate documentary proof even if the test report is from the laboratory or healthcare institution contains an ISO accreditation reference or indication of the government's recognition.

If the test result is not in English or Chinese, or does not contain all of the above information, passengers must also present a written confirmation in English or Chinese issued by the laboratory or healthcare institution bearing the name of the passenger matching that in their travel document and setting out all of the above information.

Andere Bestimmungen
·Passengers will be subject to Covid-19 testing on arrival and must remain in Hong Kong International Airport until a result is received.
·Passengers who have been in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, or Zimbabwe in the past 21 days are not permitted to enter Hong Kong.

This does not apply to residents of Hong Kong, who must enter supervised quarantine for 7 days at the Penny’s Bay Quarantine Centre. After day 7 they may complete their following 7 days at their designated quarantine hotel. They will be subject to Covid-19 testing every day for their first 7 days in Hong Kong, and on days 9, 12, 16, 19, and 26 after arrival.

·Passengers who have only stayed in any Group C (Low Risk) areas in the past 21 must hold a negative PCR test result tested within 48 hours before departure.

Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers must also hold confirmation of room reservation for 14 nights starting on the day of arrival in Hong Kong in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH).

Vaccinated passengers: Passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and who hold a recognised vaccination certificate must hold confirmation of room reservation for 7 nights starting on the day of arrival in Hong Kong in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH).

·Passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 holding a recognised vaccination certificate must ensure that they meet all the following conditions:
  1. Hong Kong residents who have stayed in Group A countries must hold a recognised vaccination certificate issued by any Places of Issuance of Recognised Vaccination Records;
  2. They have received the recommended dose(s) as stipulated in guidelines of a vaccination course at least 14 days before arriving in Hong Kong. The 14 days are counted from the day after receiving the last dose of the recommended course; and
  3. They must have received a vaccine recognised by Hong Kong.

Passengers who have received the first dose and have a medical certificate confirming they cannot receive the second dose due to medical reasons and passengers aged between 12 years and 17 years who have received one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty) vaccine for at least 14 days are also considered as being fully vaccinated.

·Passengers who have stayed in any Group B (Medium Risk) areas in the past 14 days must meet the following requirements:
  1. Residents of Hong Kong must hold a negative PCR test result tested within 48 hours before departure;
  2. Non-residents of Hong Kong must hold both a negative PCR test result tested within 48 hours before departure, and a recognised vaccination certificate. A recognised vaccination certificate must be issued by either a Stringent Regulatory Authority, or the relevant authorities of Hong Kong, Macau or Mainland China. Please note that non-residents of Hong Kong who have stayed in any Group B (Medium-risk) areas in the past 14 days will be refused boarding if not holding a recognised vaccination certificate.

Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers must also hold confirmation of room reservation for 21 nights starting on the day of arrival in Hong Kong in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH) (designated quarantine hotel valid from 1st December 2021).

Vaccinated passengers: Passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and who hold a recognised vaccination certificate must hold confirmation of room reservation for 14 nights starting on the day of arrival in Hong Kong in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH) (designated quarantine hotel valid from 1st December 2021).

Group A (High Risk) Areas: Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Congo (Democratic Republic), Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Georgia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Greece, Guinea, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Korea (South), Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Montenegro, Mozambique, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Panama, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, Uruguay, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Group B (Medium Risk) Areas: All places outside China which are not listed in Group A or Group C.

Group C (Low Risk) Areas: None.

·Passengers may find further information for travelling to Hong Kong online.
·Passengers are not permitted to enter Hong Kong if they have been outside of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan in the past 14 days.

This does not apply to: 

  1. Residents of Hong Kong, including their spouses and minor children;
  2. Crew member and government officials carrying out their duties. However, crew members who have travelled to a Group A (High-risk) Area in the past 21 days prior to arrival, or who have travelled to a Group B (Medium-risk) Area in the past 14 days prior to arrival, must hold a negative result Covid-19 nucleic acid test result tested within 48 hours before departure at an ISO15189-accredited laboratory or a laboratory recognised by the Hong Kong Government;
  3. Personnel engaged in anti-epidemic work endorsed by Hong Kong;
  4. Passengers with a new entry visa to work, study, or establish or join in any business; or
  5. Passengers in transit for less than 24 hours, provided next flight is issued on the same ticket and the passenger does not leave the transit area of the airport.

Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers who have stayed in any Group A (High Risk) areas in the past 21 days are not permitted to travel to Hong Kong.

Vaccinated passengers: This does not apply to residents of Hong Kong who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or who have received one dose of a recognised vaccine and have been certified by a medical practitioner that they are unfit to receive the second dose of vaccine due to health reasons. This also does not apply to passengers aged between 12 and 17 years and have received one dose of the Comirnaty vaccine at least 14 days prior to travel, provided they are holding a recognised vaccination certificate, a negative PCR test result tested within 48 hours prior to departure, and confirmation of room reservation for 21 nights starting on the day of arrival in Hong Kong in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH).

A recognised vaccination certificate must meet one of the following conditions:

Other exempt passengers: 

  1. Children aged younger than 12 years who are travelling with the aforementioned adult passengers who are residents of Hong Kong, and who have been fully vaccinated, provided the child is holding a nucleic acid test obtained within 48 hours prior to boarding; or
  2. Seaman, provided they hold a nucleic acid test obtained less than 48 hours prior to boarding, a certification letter from the shipping company confirming the crew member has a negative nucleic acid test taken 48 hours prior to boarding, and a MarDep approval letter. Crew members must also take a nucleic acid test upon arrival at the DH's Temporary Specimens Collection Centre. Transfer from the airport to the vessel should be arranged by the shipping company.
