Das Castello Sforzesco ist eine sehr berühmte Burg in Mailand und eine der bekanntesten Attraktionen der Stadt. Es war einst der Wohnsitz der Familie Sforza, die über Mailand herrschte. Die gesamte Burg erstreckt sich über ein weitläufiges Gelände mit hohen Stadtmauern, prächtigen Innenhöfen und zahlreichen Räumen, die uns einen Einblick in das luxuriöse Leben der Mailänder Sforza-Familie jener Zeit geben. Heute dient die Burg als Museum und ist in mehrere Bereiche unterteilt. Dort finden sich mehrere Museen wie das Museum für Antike Kunst, das Möbelmuseum, das Musikinstrumentenmuseum und das Museum für Angewandte Kunst. Bei begrenzter Zeit sollte man unbedingt das Deckengemälde "Sala delle Asse" von Leonardo da Vinci und die Skulptur (Die Pietà Rondanini) von Michelangelo, die er kurz vor seinem Tod schuf, besichtigen – beides absolute Highlights der Sammlung. Nach dem Museumsbesuch kann man im angrenzenden Parco Sempione eine Pause einlegen, der perfekt für einen Spaziergang mit leckerem italienischem Eis geeignet ist.
