Background information: From Friday 3 April until Wednesday 8 April inclusive, no main line trains will run between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central. This will allow engineers to work around the clock on a combination of track, signalling, power and station improvements, including: £8.4m of essential track work at Willesden including the renewal of switches and crossings (moveable sections of track that guide trains from one track to another), and installing new railway foundation stone (ballast). Bridge waterproofing works at Ledburn (near Leighton Buzzard), a £6.6m investment to protect the structure and prevent future damage. Signalling upgrades worth over £7m south of Leighton Buzzard to reduce the risk of failures and improve long term reliability. Overhead line equipment renewal near Wembley, a £8m project to improve safety and strengthen power resilience. Power upgrade enabling works in Bushey to support future improvements to train operations into and out of London Euston. Station improvements, including canopy and platform upgrades at Harrow & Wealdstone. The work is part of a huge programme of improvement work on the West Coast Main Line which will ensure smoother, more reliable journeys for passengers. Additionally, due to over-length trains, Kings Sutton, Hatton and Lapworth will be served by the following rail replacement buses in both directions: Bicester North, Kings Sutton and Banbury. Warwick Parkway, Hatton, Lapworth and Dorridge. The above buses should be used for local journeys to / from Kings Sutton, Hatton and Lapworth only. Rail replacement buses will also operate between Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway and Stratford-upon-Avon for the entire day, connecting with trains at Leamington Spa.
