    Retaining wall collapse impacts routes between Skipton and Carlisle

    Zugehörige Informationen:During pre-planned engineering work between Garsdale and Kirkby Stephen, a retaining wall collapsed on to the line. Whilst urgent track repairs are carried out in the area, trains will have to run at reduced speed between Skipton and Carlisle. As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes. This is expected to be the case until the end of the day on Wednesday 25 February. Customer advice: What has happened? Services between Skipton and Carlisle are being disrupted due to urgent repairs to the railway. Network Rail staff are on site and expect repairs to take until at least the end of service on Wednesday 25 February. How does this affect my journey? Throughout the remainder of today and all day tomorrow, train services will have to run at a reduced speed between Skipton and Appleby in both directions and may be delayed. Northern services between Skipton and Morecambe / Lancaster are not affected. It is not yet confirmed how this incident will affect trains on Wednesday 25 February. What should I do? Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including advance and peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Services between Shildon and Bishop Auckland are being disrupted due to a theft of signalling cables. How does this affect my journey? Train services are unable to run between Shildon and Bishop Auckland in both directions. What should I do? Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends. Replacement transport: Road transport will be operated by 626 Coaches as follows: From Bishop Auckland to Shildon, at 06:30, 07:30, 08:30, 09:30, 10:30, 11:30. From Shildon to Bishop Auckland, at 06:45, 07:55, 09:00, 09:55, 10:55, 11:55. Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick-up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.
