You have to book your tickets a day in advance, though it is free. The day we went they didn’t even bother to check our tickets. It was a Sunday, so probably more busy than usual. Lots of tourist groups and people. It’s a nice easy stroll along side the river. You could climb up to the top of Elephant Trunk Hill for a panoramic view of the area. It’s probably something like 25 stories, but the stairs themselves look quite harrowing from the group. Not for the faint of heart or the unfit. We did not do it. And I do wonder how many who attempt it quit before reaching the top. Overall it was a good experience.
