Interested in learning more about the silk road and chinese history? The Gansu Provincialmuseum is the place to visit in Lanzhou.🐎 A highlight of the museum is you get to see the real horses and chariots discovered in the Lei Han Tombs. They are much smaller than I expected, and are very well preserved. The actual tomb is located in Wuwei and was discovered in 1969 by farmers. 220 relics were discovered from the tomb including the 99 entourage figurines of horses and chariots.🏺 The museum has a range of exhibits including the silk road, pottery, and other significant artifacts on display. We paid extra for a digital immersive experience we stumbled across. You need wechat or alipay to pay for a ticket. Luckily we were the only 2 people in the experience, it was unique and had great visuals and music. From the desert, rainforest, Chinese Dynasties, and the beginning of time - all 4 walls, ceiling, and the ground had colour and picture!🎫 We visited on a tour group. Admission to the museum is free but you need to book in advance on WeChat - Trip.com has instructions if you search up Gansu Provincial Museum. Dont forget to bring your passport too! 🛍 Opposite the museum is a MASSIVE mall (Lanzhou Center). Lots of food options, including Hey Tea hehe. Retail shops are more on the higher end but there are a few mid range like Sephora, H&M, Lulu Lemon, Pop Mart, etc
