Emplacement magnifique, bon restaurant, bon petit déjeuner, personnel merveilleux

The hotel hugs the Casamance River. One of the first things I notice is the gift shop that overflows into the small open air lobby. This shop offers some unique pieces I have never seen, with wood sculptures and palm fiber raffia sculptures a few antique pieces. I also found skirts made of the trademark local fabric. The small open air lobby leads to a yard area with a huge pen of chickens, Peacocks, and Secretary birds all living peacefully and rich ton the riverwalk. Rooms branch out in a long line on two floors. The carved wooden door of each room displays its unique name. The small cozy rooms accommodate side tables, a small desk, a TV that offers a few French stations, and a mosquito net . Small Bathroom has all the necessities with a walk in shower, hot water, soap, and lotion. The firm bed and several pillows gave me good nights rest. AC via split system The hotel grounds themselves are small, yet lead to large riverside restaurant. Several setting areas, all outdoors, some with a roof someone, inclusive a large party area. We preordered our dinner from choices of two appetizers, two mains, and 2 desserts or several ice creams. The appetizer quiche was delicious with q herb flavor. Tomato-based seafood soup lacked some full spice and lacked seafood pieces. Some house chicken and some chose captain fish, both good, with a fresh vegetable combo and roasted potatoes. Their respective light sauces gave an added touch to the mains. Dessert options included fresh fruit in natural juice, various ice creams, or a chocolate gâteaux (lava cake) topped with vanilla ice cream,. Desserts were absolutely delicious. Very good breakfast buffet with pastries, local fruits, egg station, coffee and 2 teas, inc a local tea, Service is attentive and personal. We were missing two chocolate gateaux despite our early pre-ordering, but they quickly adjusted. Front desk personnel is always attentive and attentive. Wifi is free and dependable, sometimes slow.

The rooms were dark, the shower was tiny (with one corner blocked out for pipes). Almost no toiletries. And there's a step up from the bedroom to the bathroom that's not fun to navigate at night. Breakfast at the restaurant was terrible. VERY limited options, served on small platters that were picked clean in minutes. Too many guests for too few servings. Dinner was better because it was served individually based on your order. Food was ok, but not anything special. And the bar is HIDDEN. So if you can't find a server, and you go looking for the bar, you eventually find it but trying to get a vodka tonic was a 30-minute ordeal. Overall, not impressed, and would try elsewhere if I'm ever back in Ziguinchor.

I stayed here for two nights during a 12-day trip to Senegal and it was my favorite stay. I'm not sure what category my room was, since it was booked by a tour operator, but I stayed on the second floor (room #44). The views of the river are very nice and the staff are friendly. I ate breakfast and dinner at the riverfront restaurant both days and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs (vegetarian). Some staff speak a little English, which I found to be adequate to communicate my needs. The room was spacious and well lit with a large comfortable bed and mosquito net. Air conditioning worked well and the shower was great. Wi-fi worked well in my room and I was able to do some work meetings on my laptop. I wish I could have stayed a couple more nights to fully unwind.

Excellent hotel with fantastic river views I booked a ‘Casamance’ room on the first floor, not worth booking the ‘royal’ rooms on that floor as you have the same view, with the same bedding, just a bit more space and a bit more amenities in the ‘royals’. For its views first floor is to recommend. Are rooms are accessed by an outdoor stair and alley. The hotel has a very laid down atmosphere with a small swimming pool, a great terrace,, and fantastic outdoor seating for dinner, both overlooking the river. Food is excellent with lots of local fish plates. The tempura crevettes are mouth watering. I really felt home at this hotel, with its enthousiast staff, and its nice garden filled with local artifacts and flowers.

Don't trust this hotel – they added fake charges to my final bill and the staff were oh so incredibly rude. The wifi does not work on iPhones.. Otherwise bed was very comfortable and setting peaceful.
