Matthiol Appartements

We stayed at the Matthiol Serviced Apartments for four days and it was amazing. We had a 3 bedroom apartment and it was the perfect size for our family of 5. The apartment was beautiful, very clean, and it had all the necessary essentials. We also had a gorgeous view of the Matterhorn. The hotel and building staff were so nice and helpful and they assisted us with every request. They even came to our rescue very quickly the last morning when our coffee machine wasn’t working properly. The apartment also includes use of a private hot tub/sauna area, a ski room, and a laundry room. We were able to reserve the hot tub/sauna area each evening after skiing and it was very nice. I was a little worried to stay here after I read the reviews discussing the long walk up to the apartment but it really wasn’t too bad. However, I would be careful if you are traveling with anyone who has difficulty climbing up stairs. We were even able to ski under the Cervo hotel right into the apartment/which was an added bonus.

This was the perfect base for our family (two older teenagers and us) of four to explore beautiful Zermatt! It is a ten min walk to the main grocery store (Coop) and the main town area. Be warned though, the walk back requires a basic good fitness level (i.e if you are out of shape you will know it in about 20 seconds)! It's up up up, but so lovely we never cared. Easy walk to all lifts for hiking etc. The views are incredible from the apartment - the Matterhorn just looms over everything and you can't believe how big it is - and the kitchen was well equipped with essentials. We bought our own food, drinks, and made ourselves right at home. Free laundry in basement (slow but we chose to air dry) and the wellness area is actually just lovely. The spa and steam room were perfect and we enjoyed them after a long day hiking. As Americans we never get used to the lack of screens in other countries, but regardless it was great to open windows (no AC) to sleep in cool mountain air - a few flies and bugs but nothing major - birds did get in a few times through main room, but they seemed to know they didn't belong and promptly flew out. I wish I never had to leave - it was the most amazing place, so relaxing, so beautiful so CLEAN and just all around perfect. PS. the coffee was fabulous in the espresso maker sugar is provided, (we bought cream at Coop).

Casa per 8 persone molto bella,spaziosa e confortevole,molto luminosa e pulita. Dotata di molti comfort e servizi,come la navetta per la stazione. Unica pecca è la posizione che è si vicino alla stazione,ma l’ultimo tratto di strada era stretto e di grossa difficoltà per la persona parzialmente disabile che era con noi. Probabilmente se lo avessi saputo prima avrei cambiato location,la persona è stata costretta a restare in casa fino al giorno della partenza. Comunque oltre questo inconveniente è andato tutto molto bene. Bel panorama sul Mattheron e buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Lo consiglio! Very nice house for 8 people, spacious and comfortable, very bright and clean. Equipped with many comforts and services, such as the shuttle to the station. The only flaw is the location which is close to the station, but the last stretch of road was narrow and of great difficulty for the partially disabled person who was with us. Probably if I had known before I would have changed location, the person was forced to stay at home until the day of departure. However, beyond this inconvenience, everything went very well. Nice view on the Mattheron and good value for money. I advise!
