Zante Plaza Hotel & Apartments

Do not listen to the majority of these reviews! The hotel is amazing. It isn’t a 5star hotel if you’re looking for modern, sleek, posh or hi tech then go elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a family run, friendly, cute hotel then come here. The rooms are lovely, we had a superior annex suite, balcony over looking the quiet pool. Beds comfy, room clean, cleaners in every morning with fresh towels. Rooms have a wardrobe, dressing table, hair dryer, fridge, kettle. Lost of choice for food breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snack bar had lots of options. Fresh salads daily, tasty deserts and lots of ice cream. Staff are amazing. So friendly and take the time to talk to guests. The main lady of reception is so lovely. All the staff work so hard all day long. 3 pools to choose from and plenty of sun beds. Little shop onsite with all the basics if needed. Plus a supermarket at the end of the road and then close to the strip. Beach within a 10 minute stroll from the hotel. WiFi throughout. Plus added bonus of some beautiful cats, we fell in love with them all. No kids club but your child needs the pool and the beach and they are fine. We loved it and will defo return next year.

It’s early May 2025, the weather is warm but bring a jacket for the evenings. We are in the annex of the hotel (Hotel Plaza Palace) and our room is ground floor opening out directly to the pool and sunbeds. New sunbeds with little pillows, beautiful pool (the frogs swim in it at night), kept clean with a machine and the snack bar is located in this area. The main part of the hotel also has a pool but an annex a little further along does not. On arrival we had to pay €35 for the week the reception team wanted this paid in cash. The room has a tv and a little fridge. The aircon unit which you don’t need at this time of year is still a noisy piece of equipment in the room. It seems to be linked to the patio windows and when you shut them the aircon jumps into action yet does not produce any air! Most strange!! The sink is outside the bathroom located just by the door and has a big mirror. There is another mirror and a table located at the other side of the room. 4 shelves and hanging space for your clothes and a shelf behind the bed for your glasses, phone or a drink, whatever your needs may be. Oh and you have a kettle too. Comfortable bed with an extra pillow and blanket if needed. I’m a softy so yep I had the blanket on the bed. Sadly we had a couple of cloudy days and this also meant no hot showers! Water not even lukewarm. However you could shower in the morning and then the water was hot. You can eat in the main restaurant or at the snack bar. There is no bar area in the main hotel you simply stay seated in the restaurant for entertainment. I prefer two designated areas. Main restaurant - we were all inclusive so three meals per day. The food is okay, you never smell any delicious aromas in the air as you approach. There is the bread station, the salad bar, in the morning the yogurt and fruit area (in the evening this is the desserts). The hot food is under cover; usually a soup, a pasta option, a veg option, potato and chips plus various meat and fish options too. I did have a chickpea option one evening that was tasty. You should find something to eat and it’s all fine. Not delicious, not amazing; satiating yes. Have I had better in an all inclusive environment? Oh yes. I have had worse too. It was Greek Night in the restaurant they served what they called Souvlaki but it was diced pork on skewer lathered in butter. Beside it chicken fillets also swimming in butter. No humus, taramasalata, pita or gyros. I think if we want a really good meal we are going to have to eat out! What I wasn’t very impressed by was the hotel employees also filling up their plates alongside the guests. Should they have waited until service was over before taking their meal selections? Some filled a plate, some piled a plate high and guests would need to wait for more food to arrive. Snack bar - Snacks are 11.00-13.00 then 15.00-17.00. A nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities and a restaurant as well as a snack bar and two drink bars. There are a few improvements that could be made in our opinion. Firstly the rooms are nice however our beds were rock solid and weren’t the most comfortable sleep. Secondly my partner is vegetarian so it would be helpful if they could label what is vegetarian in the restaurant, as well as providing more vegetarian food at the snack bar rather than just salad. The entertainment they did have during our stay was very fun, but we both think they could maybe do it on more nights. Adding a ping pong table or a darts board or something similar for guests during the day would also greatly improve the hotel

Really lovely staff at Zante Plaza. Only 10-15 mins taxi from the airport (€25 it cost us). Upon arrival we were met with the most fabulous welcome from Petros, what a guy!!! He showed us to our room and to the snack bar and other pool. We had a pool view balcony room, standard but nice. We stayed all inclusive so we literally needed to room to change, wash and sleep. One of our party had an issue with the bed, we brought this up and it was changed that day. The other staff were also very friendly and helpful, informing us of a traditional parade in the town of Zakynthos, they ordered us a taxi and could tell us the price there and then (€17 one way). The food was absolutely delicious and it was a good selection of drinks too. However, personally I'm glad I went out of season due to location of the hotel as we wanted a nice relaxing break away. If you're wanting somewhere close to the strip of Laganas it's a perfect location for you. Shops, beach and Cameo Island are all within walking distance. The beach and island offer some great views. We didn't visit Turtle Bay but there are people offering boat trips everywhere. Entertainment are the hotel was fabulous too. We had a duo called 'Flying Rooster' and also a Greek themed night with traditional dancing where they had customers up joining in (lots of fun). We went the day they were doing bingo but I imagine that good fun too! Thank you for a lovely welcome and stay!!!

First I have to point out my review would be a top mark of 5 if it had not been for the inefficiency of the room cleaners. This hotel I believe is family run and the staff are amazing. From check in to check out they are great. As disabled travellers Pedrose at check in came to me to complete everything as I couldn’t stand at the reception desk. A second member of staff took our cases and showed us to our room ,ground floor with a view of palm trees and the pool. The room is a good size with a double and a single bed. Decent wardrobe space and bathroom with a walk in shower. The terrace has patio furniture table and 4 chairs. Decent sturdy plastic. The restaurant was close to our room (more on this later), the food was great something to suit everybody ,always a great choice and always hot,the staff are constantly checking to make sure plenty of it and filling up where needed. From salads to soup you name it and I can not put into words how delicious the deserts are. The barman (I didn’t get his name) NEVER stops he is on the go from morning until night always happy to serve you and he doesn’t scrimp on the alcohol. A really nice bloke. The restaurant staff are on hand to take away your empty plates so you never have a messy table.the hotel itself is very clean ,the floors brushed and mopped regularly and any spills wiped up immediately. However the room cleaners aren’t quite so hot on cleaning the room,we were here for a week and only saw the cleaners once 5 days in when they changed our sheets. As disabled I spent most of my time on our terrace but there was no issue for the cleaners to come into the room and freshen it up. That is the only real negative however there are some suggestions that I think could be beneficial to the hotel. First there are a lot of ramps at this hotel some quite steep and the stairs at the main entrance does not have a suitable handrail for a disabled person to use and feel safe using. The ramp down to the rooms is tiled and used by people in and out of the pool so gets very slippy. There are no rails at all and this is the only entrance and exit from the main hotel to the rooms. It is very dangerous when wet especially when you use a walking stick so maybe something better could be thought out or even just install a handrail. The restaurant is also the bar and there is just not enough tables and chairs to satisfy the needs of all the guests. You have to queue to get a table no matter the time you visit. And can’t really sit for the night having a drink as people want to eat. This hotel is actually over multiple buildings and in the main one there are no snacks available and all the theme nights happen in the other building. Again not suitable for me as I couldn’t walk that far. I think this should be highlighted more for people looking to book. It is in a great position close enough to the strip without the noise but the resort was nearly all closed when we were there in mid October. Outside the hotel is only sunbed

The most amazing beautiful, friendly and helpful staff is what makes this hotel an amazing place to stay! Beautiful fresh food, even have themed nights which again is delicious. I would visit here again and again and again! Perfect location near the beach and far enough away from the noise of to strip.
