Klelia Beach Hotel by Zante Plaza

Disappointed by the condition of our hotel room it wasnt worth the price what we paid for. Room 389 .. Jet2 are advertising it on there Website as a 4* so don’t expect 4* rooms it's only a 3* Hotel.

DONT GO Where to start really feel like I stayed in a different hotel than everyone else. Firstly Jet 2 advertising this as a 4 star hotel when on here and on line it’s is clearly a 3 star and believe me that is a stretch, more like a 2. On arrival shown to our annex room. Jet 2 mentioned it was a separate building, but failed to mention it was across a road away from the pool and hotel facilities. It faced an derelict taverna that housed the local cat population, we counted 12 on one day and gave up. The annex stunk of ********, the room was shabby and dirty, bathroom floor was dirty, chewing gum in the ashtray. There was a tile coming away from the wall in the bathroom where the fittings were all rusty. There was scorch marks around the plug socket and gaffer tape around the mirror, no coach hangers ( not that I wanted to hang anything up there !)it resembled a Greek pontins. We saw the reception lady and she explained if we weren’t happy with the annex we should contact Jet 2 ( good luck with that one !!) we did get a move into the main building after we spent one night in there and that was more than enough, others were not so lucky. This was a little better, cleaner at least and we were grateful to get out of that place. There was a couple of maintenance issues with the room they are a bit sp**** The hotel according to the Jet2 website had a separate bar and restaurant these were one building. The entertainment was held under a small covered area so if it did rain there was no where to sit. It is quiet hotel but this will suit some people. The cats like to hang out in the hotel bins which are located across the road. The bins moved occupied by cats and god knows what when you walked past them. After being in the bins the cats were wandering around the restaurant while everyone was eating ….gross. It is also worth mentioning if your in the annex the cars like to fight too, in the middle of the night. In the main hotel there’s a lot of birds nest which is nice to see no problem with birds but please can someone clean the poop off the handrails, when you need the handrails to get up stairs the result is not nice . The staff here do work really hard I have to say and they’re always happy and willing to help you. All in all feel like we were sold a dud with this one and I wouldn’t touch Jet 2 with a barge pole there customer service is absolutely rubbish to say the least Disappointed

This little hotel was a nice quiet October sun holiday. The rooms are basic but pleasant. The staff are amazing, George at the bar and Angela at the restaurant were always pleasant and happy to help with a smile. Plenty of food choices, our daughter ate really well, there was always something she enjoyed too. The cocktail list and drinks available were extensive compared to other holidays I've been on. The food was nice and varied. The pool area was lovely and clean, and easily accessible. Room was cleaned everyday and the cleaner was so friendly and very hard working. Reception staff were always happy to help and quick to get anything that needed sorting out done. We couldn't get our Air con to go above 17 degrees and the maintainence guy was waiting outside our room when in the time it took us to walk back (about 1 minute). The only negatives was that we booked for 3 of us and, 1. The bed for our daughter was a fold out bed with an ill fitting mattress so she alway felt like she would roll out off it. It also always felt like it would fold or collapse at any moment (it didn't). She ended up in with us which would have been awful if it was summer months. 2. Towels seemed to be in short supply. They would always give us a 3rd when asked but seemed to leave enough for 2 people most days.

Stayed for a week with our 6 year old daughter all inclusive. Nice hotel and pool, the food was good and varied with a good selection and enough for kids as well as some nice Greeks style dishes. The room was pleasent and cleaned well everyday. A real positive is that the hotel is part of the Zante Plaza Group, which allows you to go to the other hotels and use the facilities and have food etc. This was great and we visited the hotel in Laganas and Alykanas, when we hired a car, for lunch and some pool/ beach time. Saved a bit of money and a guaranteed a spot for lunch and a place by the pool etc, great idea! The temperature was good and sea lovely and warm. The area is quiet as it was the end of the season which was perfect for us, although if you were looking for nightlife the whole Kalamki and Laganes area is closing ar this time of year. There was a nice bar ( La Luna) just up the road and a few of the local bars were still open. Would recommend at this time of year for a quieter family holiday but probably not in peak season.

Most of the reviews for this hotel are fair however those that slate the food are clearly written by extremely fussy eaters who would complain wherever they went. The food choice is excellent, if you can't find something to eat that really isn't due to lack of options. All of the food is well cooked and the meat dishes were always so tender. There are several meat options, vegetables, pasta dishes and lots of salads available at lunch and dinner. Breakfast had a large choice of hot and cold plus freshly cooked pancakes and eggs everyday. Snack time included toasties, pizza, hot dogs, wraps, burgers, chips and more fresh salad. Drinks were easily accessible and you could help yourself to wine and soft drinks. George at the bar is amazing, efficient, friendly and always had a smile despite seemingly being there for 12 hours everyday. Yes, the sun beds were old and the pool area wasn't cleaned as well as it could have been but there were always beds available. This is definitely an area for improvement - the guy who hosed down the area every night failed to actually clean anything with this method... The rooms were basic but clean and with everything you need. Large shower (water wasn't always very hot) and a decent sized balcony. Very short walk to the nearest beach which was lovely and scattered with turtle nesting areas. Also a short walk to the main ***** of shops, bars and rstaurants, many were closed though due to the end of season - not unexpected. Overall, a great little hotel which, with a revamp of its sunbeds and better maintenance of this area, could be excellent.

Do not ever visit this hotel. Basic doesn't begin to describe it. Food is diabolical with very little choice. Thought I was coming to a 4* how wrong was I. Cannot wait to go home. Sunbeds are archaic pool area lacks cleanliness.

Such a wonderful hotel, rooms are basic but exactly what is needed , comfy bed ... Cleaned daily by the hard working maids. Pool area clean and tidy and pools are lovely. Food very tasty and plenty of choice. Staff all so happy and helpful. Amazing location on the old road and a 3 min walk to crystal beach and 5 mins in to the main road of restaurants. Would go back again and again !!!

This was our fourth visit to the Klelia. This time we travelled with daughter, son-in-law and little grandaughter. The pool and the little play area was perfect for her. The reception staff were very welcoming and the lovely Depy always had a smile and asked how you were. The rooms were spacious, clean with maid service daily. The maids work exceptionally hard and are so friendly. The food is lovely and there is always a good variety. The drinks are very nice and George was always there with a smile, a chat and nothing was ever too much trouble. The kitchen and waiting staff really do work hard and it was lovely to see Angela and Christine again. They work so hard and always have a smile for everyone. The Klelia is a smaller hotel and so friendly. We met so many lovely people and had a lot of laughs. The staff make this hotel special which is one of the reasons we return. A special mention must go to Depy on reception who was absolutely lovely. So welcoming from the moment we arrived and she always had a smile and time for a wee chat.
