We stayed in the Pig Sty. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Tea and coffee provided. Friendly staff. Couldn’t have asked for more. Excellent value. Very quiet. Good car parking facilities. Shower very clean and spacious. Wardrobe to hang your clothes in. Only slight criticism was the TV was very small.

Stayed here midweek A lovely warm welcome from Sammy and Joe We were in the Pig Sty room….tea, coffee etc in the room and it was very quiet Fantastic meal…the restaurant was very busy for a Wednesday night…locals and visitors and a lovely open fire A great location with lots to do in the area We we’re fortunate with the weather given it was February but hope to be back later in the year

So glad we found a recommendation for this pub, amazing food and great atmosphere 🙌 The food and drink were amazing (especially the Guinness and cherry Kracken) and the staff were great. Our dogs were made to feel very welcome, definitely one of the very best, and we will definitely go back. May their success continue.

Update on 1st review-I was contacted promptly with photos of how the mould in the bedroom was dealt with (See below). A voucher has been offered and accepted for another night's stay and meal. This has been amicably and swiftly reolved following my tripadviser posting on 17 December.

We booked a very last minute break to the Peak District and have eaten in The Farmyard Inn before so decided to book a couple of rooms and a table for an evening meal, we booked a room for us and our elderly dog, plus other room for my elderly parents. I can honestly say the welcome we all received was the best we have ever had anywhere! On top of that our rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. Sammy and Joe could not do anymore to make their guests feel comfortable, on top of that we enjoyed a fantastic meal in the evening and a bottle of bubbles to help celebrate a birthday! We all enjoyed our food and our stay. Thanks guys keep doing what you’re doing as it works so well, we’d love to stay again when we’re back in Youlgreave.

Staying in Willow Cottage (almost) across the road and popped in for supper on Tuesday night. Pretty little traditional pub that looked all cosy from the outside with a log fire glowing through the windows. Greeted by a gorgeous young blonde girl (so sorry didn’t catch her name) who was rushed off her feet (she was incredible, doing absolutely everything but without any stress) - she was so polite, so friendly, a credit to the pub. Had a lovely relaxing evening, good simple pub food and a throughly nice G&T. Really lovely (and on the doorstep) so much so we came back again Wednesday. Even busier! packed in fact…and a lovely lady (possibly the owner/manager?) went out of her way to find us a little table in an alcove where our dogs could tuck themselves away. A couple we’d met the night before were dining again too… (which tells you a lot) super friendly pub, excellent staff and a hardworking chef! Thank you for being so hospitable and feeding us so well! Mum & I made sure we wrote a glowing review in the cottage guestbook too.

My family were staying in a cottage in Youlgreave and the intention was to try out all the pubs in Youlgreave. This didn't end up happening. We were made to feel so welcome the moment we stepped foot in the Farmyard that we returned the following two nights for food as well. By the end of our stay we felt like locals. The staff were always in hand to provide us with whatever we needed and there was a running joke about how I always picked the ale with a faulty pump! The food was incredible. Hearty English grub with a posh twist. Over the three days we had had quite a lot of the menu between us and every meal was outstanding. Fully recommend the lamb. Children's menu was great also with enough options. Very dog friendly and they even provide complimentary dog treats. Our dog Rosie is very inexperienced in going into pubs but she had a wonderful time and was relaxed with the experience. We were told that The Farmyard is under new ownership, if this is the case then they have a wonderful pub and we fully intend on returning. I recommend.

Popped in a couple of times during our stay, friendly staff, food nice but very limited when we were there. We picked the hottest week to visit Youlgreave even though it was September and the lack of shade in the garden was a factor for us. I love sitting outside but in full sun was a problem at times. All in all another decent pub in Youlgreave.

An excellent location in beautiful part of Derbyshire. Bedroom, in a beautifully converted annex was extremely clean and tidy with everything you could ask for (except for wifi and phone signal) Parking excellent, large car park with picnic seating. However, due probably to lack of staff, service in the Inn was not good, and the evening meal , although reasonably priced, was not good. Staff really tried to do their best, but …….. Surprised that breakfast was ‘an extra’ and bought to our room in the morning…obviously not bacon and eggs..!
