Clean, warm, comfortable, stylish, welcoming. Couldn’t have asked for more. Great location 10mins away from city centre. Only £10 in an Uber. Local pub and bistro lovely too. Hosts really helpful.

Stayed in the Luxury King room which was very well presented and furnished. Parking is on street but spaces can easily be found on the safe road outside the premises. There was friendly communication, by text in this case, as we visited on a Sunday evening when the Bistro was closed. Breakfast needs to be found elsewhere on the days when the Bistro is closed so worth checking before you book if that’s an issue.

We felt extraordinary, the rooms are very clean and tastefully furnished, the matresses are very good and in the rooms there are different types of tea and coffee. The small restaurant downstairs was a pleasant surprise, such a small place that can offer different and special menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Congratulations to the young people running it. We stayed at 16b for one night and were highly delighted. Just two boutique en-suite bedrooms - decorated to a very high standard. Tea/Coffee-making facilities provided and excellent shower room. We were provided with breakfast vouchers for The Old Butcher's Coffee Shop next door and the food was excellent. The cost of a taxi into York was £14, but there is also a bus stop opposite the property. Not worth the hassle of driving into York and paying their extortionate accommodation prices - this B & B was perfect.
