Lakeside Park Hotel & Spa

Visited with some friends / family from America, we all had treatments in the spa, Zoe on reception went above and beyond answering all our questions and all the ladies that did our treatments was superb! Will definitely be back! We also had an afternoon tea and all the staff was so accommodating to our dietary needs, beautiful setting and gorgeous food.

Been going to the hotel on and off for 20 years and now I think it's the best it's ever been. Amazing food amazing staff amazing service. Afternoon Tea today was outstanding all very fresh home prepared sandwiches and scones and bottomless pots of tea all for under £25 a head which is amazing these days. Staff are a delight and management are very hands-on and approachable. Never stayed being local residents but the rooms look great. We have had lunches and dinners there and in the summer the decking is open and the views over the Lake are amazing.

Lakeside What a disappointment! I hope the management read this as their staff were not interested. Where do I start. We had prebooked. The spa is very small and was very busy. The staff are very rude and unhelpful. The steam room was not working as they were waiting for a bit to fix it, so it would have been nice to have let us know before we had arrived. No robes included perhaps it would have been a nice touch to offer this as a gesture of compensation for no steam room. Changing rooms and showers did not look clean. Lack of changing facilities also. Afternoon tea. There were pieces of food under our table from previous Customers I can only assume. Tea arrived and was luke warm. Afternoon tea tier tower was put in front of me and plate of sandwiches in front of my partner. We then had to rearrange the table ourselves so they were in middle of the table. Sandwiches were ok, scones were very nice warm and light. There was lots of jam and cream. Cakes were revolting. This was £78 for spa! And afternoon tea for 2 it was not worth it and very expensive. Not a good experience, I am a local and would not advise anyone to visit this hotel it is a discredit and a disgrace to what the Isle of Wight has to offer. This hotel had just been closed for maintenance and refresh for the whole of January. It still looked tatty and things not working. Staff at this hotel have no idea if service, they are robotic. Management of this hotel needs a wake up call. There is a limit to how many people will book unsuspectingly you will eventually run out of customers.
