Stayed here whilst visiting the area, Lovely pub and accommodation staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well presented, comfortable bed and excellent bathroom and shower. Breakfast was lovely and we both enjoyed it . Would highly recommend and will be staying here again definitely.

We decided to try somewhere new to eat and we chose the White Horse at Woolstone. It's less than 20 minutes drive for us so , we were looking at it potentially becoming a new local eatery for us. We had a 6.30 table booked for our anniversary. Was very busy when we walked in and had to wait just to let someone know that we had a table booked. After getting our drinks we looked at the menu and the specials board. A nice choice of food was available and when it eventually arrived it was very nice. The downside was that it arrived just before 8pm and a wait of an hour for food is not acceptable to us. I could see that the two staff members were rushed off their feet and that they didn't have enough staff. I don't know if this was a one off, but I'm not sure if we will return again.

Charming country pub with overnight accommodation. Very friendly staff, good food and a hearty breakfast. Bedroom very clean and well maintained. Bathroom upstairs, bit of a shock to the system after a hot day walking the Ridgeway Thankyou for a very pleasant stay.

This is a very quaint inn full of character, the staff were wonderful and very welcoming - going the extra mile for us arriving late. Well positioned to go on a nice walk around the Uffington White Horse and surrounding area (and relatively close to main roads for other connections). Room was comfortable and had everything you needed, and breakfast was hearty and decent. This is not a hotel, though, and definitely worth bearing in mind. Sure, it's probably the better (if not best) Inn in the countryside that I've stayed at - hence the rating - but don't expect anything flashy!

Fab stay in this hotel. We went with family so there were 10 of us. We had a double room with bathroom upstairs. Spotlessly, large, clean rooms with everything we needed. Bed really comfortable. Room had TV, tea making facilities, nice strong shower with plenty of hot water and a bath if you prefer to soak after a day walking the Ridgeway. There was also shampoo/body wash, conditioner, fluffy towels, hairdryer and brilliant little bedside lamps that had usb plugs in them for phone charging, We had a really nice meals including homemade pizzas which were tasty and reasonably priced. Nice selection of drinks and we ordered the picnics the next day (£10) and this was delicious too. Perfect, comfortable stay.

This pub/restaurant with accommodation, in a quiet picturesque little village, has bags of character. Lovely food. Clean modern rooms and en suites. Friendly helpful landlords and staff. Pet friendly. And located close to the Ridgeway Path for walkers, and various ancient sites for tourists. I had a lovely stay!

I booked a stay and a table here for my husband’s birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. They even got us in fillet steak for our main as it’s my husbands favourite asking us if we’d like dauphinois to go with it! Nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely and clean and very quirky with the bathroom upstairs. We will be back for sure and couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thank you Michelle John and all your staff for making my husbands birthday so special.

A beautiful location, and proper ‘old world’ looking country inn, and warm welcome and a good breakfast - but what a disappointing room. Room 6 - much more tired looking than in the photos, and with an adjoining door to room 5 that seemed so thin that hat we heard every word spoken in there as if it had been open - and got to listen to our neighbour snore most of the night. But more disappointing was the really low level of cleanliness. Some surfaces didn’t look liked they’d been cleaned in quite some time. I just couldn’t stay there again!!

We booked and forgot it was Mother's Day, so it was busy buy the service provided by the 2 excellent front of house staff, was appreciated. We had been on 22/12/23 but seems I forgot to review but to recap we had Xmas Dinner and the service was excellent, the food was great. So, we went back and had Camembert to share, Roast Beef and Lamb Shank and all the trimmings and when I say all I mean all. Extra Cauliflower Cheese too. Lemon Meringue Pie and Profiteroles for desert. The menu has loads to choose so will be back again. Word to the wise - don't eat for a few days before as the portions are large.
