Right next to Windermere Railway Station. Perfect for traveler to lakes nearby. Quiet room. Close to the outlook stating point. Value for money!

They should review the stars for this hotel because it’s not a 3 star hotel! There was no AC and is not written anywhere about it, so the humidity and the heat in the room was unbearable. The room was dirty with scratches everywhere and walls with stains, pillows had yellow stains and hair, the wardrobe had a spiderweb inside, there wasn’t a fridge and no isolation so you could here anything from your room. Signs of humidity/ mould on the ceiling, the hairdryer was broken when I turned it on it was smoking and making weird noises. No one is gonna clean and tidy your room if you don’t request it and no one at the reception made as aware of it when we did the check-in, so we found our room undone the next day. We were supposed to stay 2 nights in this place but our experience was so terrible that we had to checkout after one night stay. SO DISAPPOINTED!!

The location is excellent — very convenient and close to key attractions and transport. The service from the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made a good impression. However, the amenities and cleanliness were average. One downside was the mattress, which was too soft for my comfort and affected my sleep quality. On a more positive note, the breakfast service was a highlight — staff were attentive and efficient, and the experience was pleasant overall.

The location of the hotel is very good and it is convenient to go Orrest Head Viewpoint where you can see the beautiful lake Windermere. The hotel is less decorated and too old.

The service was very good and helpful. We checked in earlier than anticipated. The room could do with a touch up but otherwise very clean. Bath was a bit of an inconvenience as my wife is disabled. The bistro ( orrest head ) was very nice indeed. Staff were very accommodating and nice. No problems whatsoever with staff and food was outstanding and even catered for birthday and anniversary celebration. Nice to see vegetarian options as well.

The hotel is placed in excellent location, just across the road from the Windermere Information Centre. If you booked any tour from Mountain Goat, this might be excellent place to stay. Hotel is good, rooms were smaller than expected.

Wonderful holiday at the Windermere Hotel with our dog! Our lovely clean room with crisp white bedding was in the annex so vey quiet and only 10 yards away from the dog friendly bar which also served bar snacks for a very reasonable price. We had breakfast included in the price and the dog was allowed to sit with us next to the dining hall with tables all set up for dog owners. All of the staff from the minute we checked in were very friendly and helpful. We will be back!

Location is great, just opposite the train station/bus Interchange serving the Lake District & a big supermarket. The beds are comfortable but interior of the room needs some furnishings . The breakfast is not great, is just a simple home English breakfast. .

The location there is good, walking distance 3 mins to train station which is nice.

The Windermere Hotel is very close to Windermere railway station, this is an old building but the interiors are very well-maintained. I booked a single ensuit room, very comfortable.

It is very close to Windermere Railway Station, only 3 minutes' walk away! The hotel is very retro and historical, but the interior rooms do not look old and are very warm. The service is also very good, and there is a free buffet breakfast available, which is also very delicious.

Basic but clean hotel. Check in and parking were great breakfast was really tasty and all allergens were displayed and we also were able to get gluten free toast. Location was great at the top of Windamere hill 30 minute walk into bowness. Residents bar wasn't open and the bar next door Orrests head was freezing. We came back up to the hotel in the night hoping to get a drink but the bar had closed earlier than the time advertised which was disappointing as there was no where else to get a drink.

Very good location, just right opposite the Windermere train station. Facilities and decorations are very outdated. Minimum service, but staffs are friendly and helpful.
