I like Premier inns, generally you know what you’re getting. However this one has got me fuming! Firstly I’m not sure why, but I’ve noticed lately rooms are always set with the temperature at minimum. Arrived on a reasonably nice day and the window was wide open and the temperature set at 17. The room was like a fridge. Frankly it’s a good job we generally only sleep in the room, as I wouldn’t want to spend time in it! My wife has mobility issues, so we book accessible rooms. In a number of Premier Inns we’ve stayed in we’ve been lucky and found them positioned in a quiet area. At Holes Bay we got the second room in on the ground floor, whilst my wife appreciated not having to walk far, it put us right by the entrance door. My wife is a heavy sleeper, due to medication. I however am not and it meant every single time someone came in late (2:30am) or the inevitable trades people started leaving (4am onwards) the door banged as they left, so much for the old ‘a good nights sleep or your money back’ motto. I work in building maintenance, I understand the need for fire door closures, but this set made my room vibrate. The staff were very welcoming, on arrival for the first time my wife was asked if her need for an accessible room would cause issues in the event of an emergency. When we asked about booking for an evening meal, another staff member did warn us that due to a staff shortage caused by a trip to hospital, there would be probable delays to service. The staff have salvaged this from being a three frankly!
