Super 8 by Wyndham West Yellowstone

Wonderful stay. About 10 minutes from West Yellowstone entrance. Cute town where you can shop and eat. Very clean room. Friendly staff. Complementary breakfast is good, waffles, cereal, and pastries. Very pretty view! Would stay here again!

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights during our trip to Yellowstone. The hotel is about 10 minutes outside town, an easy drive especially when compared to the daily drives through the park. Room was clean and included a fridge and microwave so we could prepare breakfast and pack lunches for our days in Yellowstone. Breakfast was fairly modest, with cereal and waffles, but nice to have as an option. We booked when this property was a Super 8, and because we booked 3rd party, our payment was misdirected in the acquisition. The front desk was helpful and all was worked out within about 20 minutes. I would stay here again.

We get in, get everything set up and since we know it gets cold in Montana we brought a small heater. Well they only have 1 breaker for two tent sites and we had to deal with the breaker tripping all night, even with running only our small heater on low. Their solution the first night was for us to move, it was well past our time to sleep so we dealt with the cold. Next day they have someone out to look at it and the electrician has to give us an adapter but the lovely neighbor we are sharing this outlet with says he need it because they have someone with cpap machine and takes it for his side of the outlet. So we try and speak to the manager and he says we shouldn't have any issues now and that they just took over this campground and they have it in the plans to separate these two sites so they each have their own box....so why put us here if they knew it was an issue? We get back from being out all day and the lovely neighbor has Christmas lights strung up and flashing away...what is wrong with people...here's hoping we don't freeze tonight! Second thoughts on ever camping with KOA as this was our 2nd bad experience in the last couple of days with two different KOA campgrounds now. Oh and the bathrooms here need some deep cleaning, all they do is refill the TP and clean the toilets "when necessary" gross!!

I booked this hotel several months ago thru the Wyndham app, when I got to the hotel I was told that the hotel was a no longer a Wyndham hotel, and that it was owned by the KOA campgrounds that was behind the hotel. That is fine, but I was never told about that through Wyndham, so that’s Wyndham‘s fault. They did honor the amount that I was supposed to pay through Wyndham so that was good. when we checked in and we went in the room, the room had sliding windows one window, opened up several inches and would not lock. There was a little skinny dowel type piece of wood in the window track to try and keep the window from opening and also staying closed, But the piece of wood was about 2 inches short so the window would not stay closed. We went to the front desk and asked, Jackie and her husband if they could help us and they said they couldn’t do anything about it and that all the windows were like that! Not very safe!! My husband took care of it and got some rocks and put it in the window tracks to keep the window from opening. We went to the camp store next-door and met Megan. Megan also works at the front desk in the hotel, which is now called Mountain Vista. Meghan was extremely helpful and very friendly and accommodating. She was surprised that the other employees did not try to help us out with the window. This hotel could use more employees like Meghan it would make things much better in the hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean. There was a back door to the hotel, which was closest to our room, but the back door was never locked and anybody could come and go through that door. You did not need a key to get in the door. So, Mountain Vista needs to do a few safety updates and the hotel will be good.

Stopped by to eat. Past years the KOA has had a great menu. Always the best ribs, but they no longer serve trout or ribs. Menu has become bland and not worth going out of your way to eat. I'm not sure why.

Housekeeping was friendly a d the very small rooms were clean. We made reservations months ago but they said there are new owners so they would not honor our payment and we had to pay again fir 2 nights. Which cut into our vacay budget. Still haven't been refunded. A d no breakfast to speak of.
