Fairfield Inn & Suites Dallas Waxahachie

Nicholas was an awesome representative for the hotel one of the main reasons we stayed. We were traveling south to Houston and trying to figure out where to stay on short notice. He was very helpful. Hotel was nice. Excellent experience would definitely do it again.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with any Marriott property. When I checked in, the wifi didn’t work. I think this is minor so I can use my own data. When it is time to take a shower, the shampoo bottle on the wall was bone dry. So I had to wait till the second day when their staff come in the morning. Since I only stayed for one night. I guess I can just forget about it. A bug bit me at the middle of night and woke me up. I had to turn the light on and get rid of the bug. Very hard to fall back to sleep after the exercise. Before I checked out, I spoke to the service desk and mentioned all of the problems and bug. The front desk just stated the bug is quite common. I was in shock! I asked their manager to call me, but no one called in two weeks! Very bad management after all!

I said here as part of an eclipse tour. We viewed the eclipse from its grounds. This was a modern hotel and was clean. However, there was no safe, USB charging sockets or UK plug socket, although a safe was available at the reception desk. The breakfast was good here but it was not replenished so if you got done later in the breakfast period some things will have run out. There is no restaurant in the hotel and the nearest places to eat are in Waxahachie which are about a thirty minute walk or about five minutes by car.

Our stay here was due to a family wedding, there was some sort of event happening in the town, however when you charge £492 ($600 ish) you need to make sure it’s worth that money, for example, toilet cistern not straight, and looked like it had been thrown together, mould in the shower, broken tiles with filler. The Aircon sounded like an aircraft taking off every time it kicked in. No bottled water in the room. So although no big issues, certainly not worth the price we paid.

I booked and received confirmation for “Room Type Suite, 1 King, and Sofa bed”. When I arrived at the hotel I was informed that room was not available, and I had the choice of taking a room with two queen beds, or I could cancel my reservation and go somewhere else. I was able to "negotiate" into a single king size room, but this room had several issues: 1. The AC unit was leaking water, the floor was wet, and we used towels to soak up some water, then placed the coffee tray and a cup under the leak to catch the water. See image. 2. The toilet did not always fill the bowl to allow flushing, we had to manually fill the bowl, and maintenance repaired this on the second day of our stay. See image. 3. The ledge/shelf in the shower was partially pulled away from the wall. See image. 4. The microwave had not been cleaned, so we had to remove the glass tray and wash the dried food off of it before we could use it. See image. 5. The body wash dispenser in the shower was empty. 6. The remote unit for the TV/HBO would not work properly, I am a little hard of hearing, so I use the CC/text but I was unable to get the cc menu to work properly. I am surprised at how I was treated and the condition of the room at this property

The hotel was nice, the staff was helpful and cool. My room was good, the breakfast was only so-so, could have been better. The refrigerator in my room didn't work so no cold drinks, ice machines was on the 2nd and 4th floor. But the hotel was next to the civic center where I need to be.
