The Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection

What an absolute jaw dropping Inn. This place was 3 1/2 hours off of our road trip course and it was worth every second. The entire staff. ENTIRE staff was amazing. Front desk, bellman, housekeeping, wait staff, groundskeeping, all of them. The rooms are extremely clean, spacious and comfy/cozy. I could stay here for weeks and never leave that’s how “at home” they make you feel. They were wonderful. My daughter has wanted to go here for a long time because of the inspiration of the Gilmore Girls and we were not disappointed. The inn itself has an entire sheet of things to do Gilmore girl related. I left my pillow here tho and I’m now 7 hours away ☹️

My family the best time here - it’s such a special resort. I went with my husband and our 1.5 year old. There were so many personal touches that took the service to the next level! The staff were all incredibly friendly and they offer a lot of fun activities on property. The food and drinks were also amazing!

We went when they were renovating their main kitchen so this is tinged a bit towards that. We booked our room + restaurant reservations + spa treatments at the beginning of Nov 2025 for a stay in late Jan 2025. Not until Jan 3 did we get notified that the main dining room (The Garden Room) would be closed and there would be a kitchen renovation happening during our stay. So they had a food trucked parked right outside the entrance to the hotel that cooked all the meals, with construction happening during the day (paint thinner smells at breakfast, wood planks running through the entrance, constructions trucks beeping early morning). A hotel of this caliber should have remained closed during this time. Something that doesn't have to do with the renovation is the spa. We made reservations for the spa over a month in advance, booking treatments across two days. Got messages confirming it all. We show up for the first treatment and find out they didn't have any of our appointments booked. While we ended up being able to piecemeal together treatments, the staff were just so unapologetic it was baffling. They almost seemed too embarrassed to want to say anything, so they didn't. It was so strange.

Dear Mayflower Inn Team, I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback following our recent stay at the Mayflower Inn. While we truly enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and appreciated how conveniently close it is to Greenwich, there are a few areas where we felt improvements could enhance the guest experience: Mattress in Room 23 (Main House): The bed in our room was uncomfortable and feels due for a replacement. Given the nightly rate, a more supportive and comfortable mattress would align better with expectations for a luxury property like yours. Celebratory Ambiance in the Tap Room: We dined in the Tap Room to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and while the service was fine, the experience lacked the special, celebratory touch we had hoped for. Perhaps it’s due to the casual setting or overall ambiance, but small gestures or enhancements for special occasions would make a big difference. Room Insulation: The sound insulation in the Main House could be improved. Unfortunately, we could hear everything around us, which detracted from the serene environment the Mayflower Inn is known for. As you look to renovate the Main House, this could be a key area to prioritize. That said, we continue to love the charming and cozy vibes of the Mayflower Inn, and its location is perfect for a quick escape from Greenwich. Outstanding as always... looking forward to visiting once the kitchen and Garden Room have completed renovations- which staff said will be ready by early Feb. There is a mobile kitchen in the parking lot currently to service the Tap Room, but it did not appear to limit the quality of menu- but it is a shorter menu in the interim. The Well is worth the visit on its own and is an outstanding getaway to give yourself a reset to start the new year.

Under construction so there was a big food truck (where all the food was prepared) in the center of the hotel welcome area. Spa area is quite outdated, as well as the bathrooms/non central areas. Guests should be warned ahead of booking how severely the construction would affect experience.
