Fairfield Inn & Suites Waycross

"We have been loyal Marriott members - gold elite lifetime members - for many years. Tonight was a first. This afternoon, we booked a room at the Fairfield Inn in Waycross, Georgia using points. We received a confirmation. When we arrived at the hotel to check in, the front desk clerk could not find our reservation. We showed her our confirmation and she called the general manager. The front desk clerk said her manager cancelled our reservation as well as 8 other reservations because the hotel was full. We were not called, texted, or emailed to say the hotel was full and our reservation would be cancelled. We drove about 50 miles out of the way to go to a Marriott hotel. The clerk could not even tell us where the nearest Marriott hotel was or even where another hotel in Waycross was. We looked to see where the closest Marriott was and it was an hour away kind of in the wrong direction from where we are headed. We asked to talk with general and the front desk clerk said her manager P had left for the day. We asked about returning our points and the front desk clerk said they would be returned but she had no idea when. We are skeptical if points will be returned; however, they should be! Further, as a Gold Elite member, the Ultimate Reservation Guarantee states “If we cannot honor your reservation, we’ll pay for you to stay nearby and compensate you for the inconvenience.” We were told they do not do this. Well, if this Marriott hotel does not do this, then why is it on my profile? Very disappointed with how we were treated! This is horrible customer service! 😕"

Hampton Inn Waycross

"Reserved a one night stay. Arrived at Hampton Inn & checked in. Went to the room & found the the room to be substandard. The room was small with low ceiling , the furnishings were worn , not very clean . the bed spread a mark on it, the couch was worn & old. We returned to the check in desk & told the employee that it wasn’t acceptable & that we could not stay there. I asked for a refund. The clerk said that we had made the reservation through a 2nd party “Trip.com & payment was to them. I contacted them & was led to believe that I would receive a full refund. We checked into a nicer hotel. Within 2 days I was told that they couldn’t give us a refund. Trip.com & Hampton continued to blame each other for the problems. So we ended up paying for both rooms. Neither Trip.com or Hampton would take responsibility. I recommend that guests not stay at this Hampton Inn… it was just a run down hotel with poor management. If we had been told that we would not get our money back we wouldn’t have stayed & not paid for a 2nd room. Trip.com was awful & could not give us answers. We will never do businesses with either again. Avoid staying here when visiting Waycross, Ga."

"This hotel looks nothing like the rooms that is advertised on herr. The ones here are noymt sven close to being that nicd. Also this motel is one thaymt is now one of 3 that are used by the local drug dealers on the werkend. And its npt as vlean anywheee on the propertu. And the breakfast and lobby area are a jokrle compared to the pics on here. Can u please tell me how this room lookszanytging loke the too is advertised to look."
