Hotel Lobesa

The room is huge with a balcony that overlooks the paddy fields. Soundproofing is not there as you can hear the neighbour talking. Basic bathroom. There is a bidet by the toilet bowl. Meals are simple, served buffet style with 4-5 choices to pick.

This was a good 4 star hotel. Our room was clean and spacious with large bathroom (set up for Western and Asian customs). The view from the room was amazing as the hotel is located high up above a valley below. Access to the room was not convenient - set of steep stairs involved which, if you had to lug your own luggage, was quite difficult. Staff did assist though. The bar was modest and no atmosphere but we were there in low season. The restaurant was fine with a good choice of Bhutanese food (can't remember if there were non-Asian options). Breakfast was not too good is you wanted a range of Western options. We just had toast. Like most properties there is little fruit offered. Service was friendly.

Over the years I have stayed in a dozen different hotels in western Bhutan but Hotel Lobesa remains my favorite. It is not due to the location - Punakha boasts little beyond the Divine ****** temple and the dzong - but if you're in the area this is the preferred spot. It is built in the "Bhutanese style", incorporating much wood and stone. The views of the valley are spectacular. Best of all is the staff - they are gracious and efficient in addressing any concerns. They also ensure that meals are on time and varied in the dishes served. I was staying over with a group of 25 high school students and we were made to feel valued by everyone. I will ensure we return in upcoming summers.

The staff and the management are very helful and friendly.. Suku in reception is especially very friendly and helpful.. She needs extra claps.. The spa therapist is also very good.. We had a good program in the evening by the staff of the hotel

We had a very enjoyable 2-night stay here. The room was spacious and comfortable and the views over the valley lovely. The buffet spread was fairly decent. My partner enjoyed a couple of massages. Most of all, the customer service was excellent - particular thanks to Suku, Sangay and the manager, Diyen, who runs a great team.

Our stay at Lobesa Hotel in Punakha, Bhutan, was truly delightful. The room offered a beautiful view from the back, which added to the serene atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable. Special thanks to customer manager Mr. Dian Sharma, Ms. Suku, and the entire team for their outstanding service. We were also grateful for the personal attention from the owner, Mr. Buddha, who ensured everything was perfect. Highly recommended for a memorable stay!
