I would rate this motel 3 1/2 as there were many positives. Initial impression when driving in, it was very clean and neat looking. The welcome was very friendly, and the owner gave us lots of information when we called in advance. We bought microwavable food, as we realized Walpole didn't offer much in the way of restaurants after a certain hour, and we were arriving a little late. There is not a kitchen, but there is a small refrigerator and microwave, which are all we needed for a one night stay. The room itself was clean, no complaints. The bathroom is the reason for the 3 rating. It was not terrible. Just sort of what you expect in old-style motels, no frills, and not the best water mixing. The bed was ok, I've slept on far worse. And I was very pleasantly surprised to find extra, comfortable pillows in the closet. So in closing, don't be scared off by 3 star reviews. This was a perfectly fine place to stay. Just don't expect luxury.

We were led to believe in advertising and Booking that this Motel had a Restaurant upon our arrival we asked if we should make a booking for Dinner and Breakfast only to be told the Restaurant was not open. Walpole is a very small and isolated Town dining options are extremely limited We would not have booked this Accommodation if we were aware that the Restaurant was not in operation. We were told by Reception we could get some sort of room service but that it was limited and we had to order soon or miss out it wasn't what we wanted and chose to try our luck elsewhere not really satisfactorily but that's another story a hungry guest is not what any accommodation provider wants I'm sure. We only had contact with the receptionist at this motel and she was perhaps a little apologetic but shrugged her shoulders and said that's how it is. We feel we were ripped off and only half of the services were available at this Motel.
