MAD River Inn

We had an amazing stay at the Mad River Inn. The room was comfortable, the sitting area with a fire perfect, and the game room in the basement was a nice addition. It is a perfect place for families and friends who want to have a place to gather. The breakfast, afternoon cookies, and all the other amenities put this place on the top of the Inns we have visited in the Northeast. In addition to all that the innkeepers were engaging and fun to spend time with. We will return!

We had a nice two-night stay at the Mad River Inn in May. It is kept clean, owners are friendly, and there was a great homemade breakfast in the morning, which we chose to eat on the outdoor porch facing the farm next-door. My only issue was the somewhat inaccurate description of the Warren/Waitsfield 2 bedroom “suite”. A suite indicates one shared room for all guests that our family of three could stay in. But, the bathroom is located in the Waitsfield room, and the Warren room is a separate room that you have to pass through the top of a staircase to get to. Our grown kid had to get dressed to go to the bathroom or shower, since the passage between the rooms was a small but public space. Perhaps the top or bottom of this back staircase should be closed off so it feels more private. Was under the impression we would all be in one room. Ideally this “suite” should just be the Waitsfield and Champlain rooms since there is a connecting door between the two of them and you wouldn’t need to leave your room to use the bathroom.

I just returned from a 3 night getaway with my husband to Waitsfield VT. We stayed at the Mad River Inn and had a wonderful stay. Susannah and Brandon were just the best. They made us feel very welcome and at home. Our room was just the right size with a comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast each morning was ample and delicious. Bonuses included fresh baked cookies each day along with complimentary beverages and snacks. There is a pool table, fire pit, and hot tub available for guests to use all in a relaxing environment. What more is there to say? I highly recommend you find out for yourself. You won’t be sorry.
