Family Hotel Varosha 2003

We booked two nights at this hotel. We were staying at room no.5. I’m mentioning the number because in case you book here, you don’t get this room. Design of room was rustic style and bed comfortable. No plugs next to the bed for phone charging though. Now, the bathroom! You will need a boat to enter because everything inside is leaking. The sink was leaking under, non stop. I am sure the cleaning lady or owners saw this but still book the room without caring even to fix it! The bathtub…!!! It’s equipes with jacuzzi yes (but don’t know even if it working) because the sides of the bathtub were almost falling apart, half dettached from the main body of the bathtub. Taking a shower which is supposed to be a refreshing moment, was a hectic process in this room! The water was coming under the bathtub flooding everything because there was no silicon sealing around the bathtub. There was just a plastic frame that obviously was not preventing the water to escape because was half unsticked. Again, I am sure the owners knew that as it’s something that looks to be years like this. Oh, and last but not least, the toilet; fit in a corner, and always there was water around the base and behind it. That bathroom needed a total replacement and until then, the hotel should refrain from booking the respective room to people. There was no cleaning of the room in the two days we were there. They just entered the room, placed new towels and went away. Not even tiding up the bed. And it’s advertised as a hotel and not as an apartment complex. Honestly, I don’t know why the rating is so high for this place. Maybe other people had more luck in the rooms they got. I don’t know. I am just describing our experience. Architecture of the establishment is nice. There is a nice enclosed yard with tables for the breakfast and dinner. Food is ok. Breakfast is strange as you have to choose one dish from a list of 7-8 choices. Portions are unequal though. If you choose a continental breakfast you have many things offered of course. But if you choose the crepes, you get two little crepes that they disappear in two bites. And this is your breakfast. No, I won’t take it. They should have more or less equal portions for the things they offer, especially that you are obliged to have only one choice from the list. Dinner was good and we found the girl serving us very friendly and attentive! She was speaking good English and was easy to communicate. Checking out they didn’t ask us at all how was our stay at the room with the collapsing bathroom. It seems no maintainance takes place at this hotel. This was our conclusion.

Расположение: в центре города, в шаговой доступности до всех достопримечательностей и ресторанов, на берегу реки. Парковка: Своей парковки у отеля нет, но вдоль набережной машину можно поставить без проблем. WiFi: довольно шустрый. Комната: мы брали двухкомнатный люкс с балконом. С балкона открывается чудесный вид на гору и крепость. Из одного окна вид на речку, из другого - на город и ресторан. В каждой комнате кондиционер, стол, много зеркал, в том числе - в полный рост, что важно. Кровати удобные. В номере были холодильник, микроволновка, электрический чайник, 4 стакана. Больше никакой посуды. Ни питьевой воды, ни пакетиков чая и кофе в номере отель не предлагает. Ванная: требует ремонта. Душ расположен над джакузи, и для того, чтобы им воспользоваться, в ванную надо забраться. Она неплотно прилегает к стенам, остаются щели сантиметра по 3 с каждой стороны, поэтому вода льется на пол, шторка не спасает. Гостям предлагают мыло, шампунь, гель для душа и ватные палочки. Кондиционера для волос нет, везите свой. Одно из полотенец было все в застывшем свечном воске. Персонал: очень отзывчивый и дружелюбный. Немного говорит по-английски. Завтрак: Очень сытный. Порции большие. На выбор предлагается банница, блины с вареньем или шоколадом, омлет, глазунья, мюсли, "континентальный набор" с колбасой и сыром. Ни овощей, ни фруктов. То есть, если вы на ЗОЖ или ПП - выбирать вам не из чего. Кофе из зерновой машины весьма приличный.
