"My family had the pleasure of staying with Monique at her lovely home nearby the vineyards of Vouvray. We were instantly charmed by her warm welcome, local knowledge, and stories of her experiences and travels. Monique went out of her way to help us secure a table at a popular, excellent restaurant in a troglodyte setting, and offered other excellent references for discovering local wines. Her second floor 3-bed room was spacious and comfortable, accented by her personal touches—from the lemon water to keep us cool in the summer heat to the Russian dolls that decorated the room. For breakfast, Monique served us homemade apple compote and a variety of confiture. By the end of our stay, we felt sad that we were not able to spend more time as Monique packed us off with our thermoses full of coffee for the continuation of our travels and will always remember the twinkle in her eye and sharp sense of humour — our hearts full of gratitude for her opening her home to us."

"Staying next door in a nice house with my family; I walked through this small pretty estate to check it out for a potential visit. I was jumped on by a member of staff (young man) who immediately decided to tell me off for being on private property (there are no signs saying non-residents unwelcome).He did not have the good manners/intelligence to evaluate me as a potential client. Perhaps a career in hospitality is not in his future. I will not be spending my money here."

"This is a very special place, restored by the owners into beautiful and very different bed rooms, some with sitting rooms and some built into rock! They have created a relaxed and easy style of living. We had a wonderful square bedroom with tall ceilings, a big bed and a large bathroom with a bath!! Mathieu and Elisa are very attentive and generous hosts, responding to our every need and giving good restaurant recommendations. The most kind and genuine hosts. The garden is sublime, a haven of peacefulness where we ate breakfast outside every morning and raced back every evening to read our books with a glass of wine in deckchairs under the tree. The house is a 10 mins walk from the town of Vouvray which is well located (being just a 20 mins drive to Tours) to visit all the nearby chateaux, there is so much to see here. We loved our 4 nights there and wished we could have stayed longer."
