The best part about this property is the location, though a bit away from the city center. We loved the pristine beach which had clear waters. Of course, beaches in Vizag are generally not meant for swimming and it is not advisable to venture deep into the waters. Access to the beach is via a short walk leading to a small gate where one has to sign a form and then enter the public beach area. Our check-in was handled smoothly by Suman. We were offered some tender coconut water while we completed the check-in formalities. Surprisingly no welcome shells garland was provided though it was kept in plain sight at the reception. The room was a short buggy ride from the reception and also a short walk away. The Executive Room is fairly spacious but not 72 sq.meters as mentioned in the website and app, as it has a common terrace which 4 rooms have access too. Since we were here for a short stay it didn’t matter much. However for someone looking for privacy, this category of room may not offer much. Email communication from the hotel needs improvement. Simple mails were not answered properly. Breakfast spread was average. We saw the same dishes repeated on the second day of our stay – gulab jamuns, ragi laddoos etc. I am sure it doesn’t take much to offer variety. What was surprising is that there was no concept of table numbers. If we order a dish at the live counter they have no idea where to send it. There were staff who came and took orders but often ended up forgetting about it and we had to go and remind them. It happened on both days of our stay. The lady manning the coffee/tea cart was good and so was Shivani who was cheerful and who seemed to be liking her job. The in-room dining staff and housekeeping staff were cheerful too. Most of the other staff we met on the property seemed aloof and not friendly. Usually we meet staff who greet us as we pass them but here there was no such experience. Akwinder, at check-out, didn’t have the basic courtesy to enquire about our stay or exchange any pleasantries even though we were the only guests checking out at that time. On settling the bill she said “you may go”. This sounded rather rude and unprofessional. I suppose some intense training on guest etiquette is required. Radisson has to pull up their socks if they want to cater to frequent travellers. Our Radisson Premium status was not acknowledged anywhere, even the room upgrade eligibility was quietly ignored. The least we expected was to be informed about the upgrade status depending on availability at the time of check-in. Hope that the feedback is taken positively and improvements are made.

Recently we celebrated the new year by a trip to Araku valley. Flew from Hyderabad and took a cab to the destination. Stayed at Harita Resort and enjoyed the place. Nice cool weather - loved it. On the way back stayed at Dolfin. Really excellent. Originally booked for 4-7 Jan but called up to prepone for day. The Reception staff was very cordial. Checked and went to the room. A comfortable large room with a front terrace view. During the stay enjoyed the Breakfast spread and dinner menu. Everyday took a inland trip for which the travel desk help in organizing the car. Overall the experience is very satisfying. No hesitation in recommending it to future groups. All the best.

I am always happy to stay with Taj, no exception staying in Gateway, Visakhapatnam. I have received all types of help and supports, immense care and hospitality and everything. Although the infrastructure is not as per the standard that Taj normally maintains, but it is understandable that a 35 years old building might have such issues, which is ignorable. I am very happy with everyone here. Starting from the booking assistance to everyday supports and all. Here I want to mention the name of one of your employee Mr. Kanwaljeet Singh, who was the best of them all. He supported and assisted to the extent it is possible for a person. He is amazing. And not only me, I watched him supporting and assisting his fellow employees, all the staff staffs members and each and every boarders in the same manner, which is very cordial, very ”Taj”.... I wish him all the very best in his life and career with Taj. But I should mention each and everyone of your staffs I came across, and I am more than happy. At the same time I am feeling very sad, that this age old hotel will no longer stand there, as I feel an attachment already. I wish each and every member a Happy Diwali, prosperity and happiness and all the very best. And to the Taj group, I would like to request to please carry the legacy of Mr. Ratan Tata, the beloved person of us all, always, and make Taj even better everyday, staying apart from all. We were welcomed with warm gesture of cowries necklace and teeka. Beach front rooms offer one of the best views, panoramic view rooms are also there. Some travel itinerary are also available and beach wear is there to buy. Guards are attentive, always run to provide umbrella & assist with luggage and parking also valet parking is available. Ayurbay spa is reasonably priced with variety of messages. Property has many activities included from games to outdoor ground so one can spend the whole day and not feel bored. Rooms are adequate sized, balcony is perfect, housekeeping, chefs, security staff, front desk, and everyone involved is professional. Breakfast and buffet dinner spread was tasty with enough variety. Teppanyaki is a nice experience for tasteful Japanese cuisine. Varalakshmi from front desk, Ravindra chef, Prashant and staff members are helpful and strive to make holidays memorable. They also decorated room on request for my son's birthday.

We stayed here for a week and had a horrible experience with the food. In fact, the food options are very limited. Most of the items are not available. Hotel management doesn't want to entertain customers'requests or concerns during the weekdays. The hotel runs only during the weekends. Chefs are not available during the weekdays, hence please don't expect anything from the restaurant. You will end up getting unhygienic food during weekdays. They don't even provide dal during weekdays though they have a lot of items on dal in their menu. The only advantage of this hotel is a studio room with a sea view balcony and it's very peaceful.
