Econo Lodge Town Center

The staff was very accommodating I had a large pickup and trailer and they were very generous with allowing me to park and provided a room very close to my vehicle so I can keep an eye on it. The room was comfortable air conditioner was fantastic very accommodating staff was remarkable

The first night there was a lot of noise from the room above us. We ignored it as best as possible and finally got to sleep around 2AM. The second night the noise was even worse. My husband called down to the office about 11:30 and asked the night manager to do something about it. The man was very rude and told him it was normal to hear people walking around above us. Dan explained that it was not normal walking, it sounded like they were tearing the place apart. There was loud stomping and crashing sounds like heavy objects being thrown around and that he was going to call the police. The office man said "No, no, no" I will take care of it. I will make a phone call to the room. I don't know if he did or not because the noise did not stop until 3AM. He certainly never made the effort to walk down to the room to see what was going on, nor did he call the police. We got up tired but determined to enjoy the beach and other things in Virginia Beach. We came home around 9Pm too tired to enjoy anymore of the night life there and needed to get rested up for our trip home the next day. We pulled into the motel parking lot to find 4 police cars and a coroner's van in front of our room. Both people in the room above us were dead. It was not until 2AM that the police and forensics team finished and took the bodies away. They had to move furniture and stuff around looking for evidence so again there ws a lot of noise and little sleep. When we went down to the office that morning to check out I asked for a partial reimbursement of our room fees since wepayed for a place to sleep and really didn't get to sleep much. That was refused and although I worked really hard to remain calm as he got just plain rude and started treating me like I was a complete *****. I had to leave to keep from losing my temper. But I have not shut up. If I can keep you from experiencing anything near what what we had to go through then it is worth my time to write this. Do not be fooled by the pictures and descriptions of this place. The only breakfast served there is coffee. (No coffee maker in the room). There is a room, coffee in the morning and fresh towels if you can hunt down the maid. That is it for the amenities. The only saving grace was the woman who checked us in and the maintenance man. They were very nice but the rest of the staff treat you like you are a second class citizen. Granted a lot of rough looking people seem to be living or staying there, but there are some of us who would like an inexpensive place to lay our heads while we are on vacation. If you are like us, please don't stay here. There have to be places out there that think more about people than money.
