Beautiful place BUT you need a very reliable car!! It is in the middle of nowhere with no public transport. Plus, there is a steep incline to and from the property. Our day trips were up to 70 miles each way per day as the local area has mainly sleepy villages. The land lady is friendly and can be seen walking her 2 Yorkshire terriers. She can't speak English so luckily my school girl French worked!! I wished I'd brought her a gift from England as she was so nice. At the end of the stay, you'll need to give her 1E per night per adult for community tax. Laundry and ironing - great no problem there is a utility shed for that plus lots of hangers and all ironing facilities are provided. Bring your own washing powder. They provided a washing up sponge and liquid. There are 3 bins for recycling. These were not emptied during our 10-night stay. We couldn’t get the grill to work. I don’t thing there is one. You have to go outside of the chalet to turn the gas canister on and off. The shower was lovely but the bath tub is so small you won’t be needing bubble bath!! They have a large fridge and small freezer which was a life saver because the 3 of us filled the fridge in the heatwave!! The double bed has a comfortable mattress. I am 5ft 8 and my legs were almost hanging off the bed, so the bed would not be suitable for very tall people. I'm glad we brought our own pillows. She provides a duvet only for each room. We arrived in a heatwave so when we returned to the chalet, it was 34oC inside. We then opened all of the windows. Luckily the heat was mainly cured by 2 large fans they provide. The temperature got down to 22oC in the morning. Their gardens are lovely to wander around in. It was a butterfly paradise near the chalet and we spotted a beautiful swallowtail. On departure we swept the floor, cleaned the surfaces and left it tidy, that's all they expect of you. They don't provide cleaning agents. Had no problem with WIFI connection. There was an outdoor barbecue but you need to buy charcoal. We didn't use it. Nearest open air swimming pool in Mortain, not too far away. If that's closed go to Mont Secret 19 miles away. Nearest supermarket 5 miles away. I would like to say a big thank you to the owners.
