A great hotel complex. Reception staff were SO helpful, above and beyond! Friendly and can communicate very well in English.
A lovely walk to the marina from the hotel, takes a good 25-30mins though. This is fine but with young children it can take double the time 🤣, so, we hired bikes. The reception staff sorted this for us. It was a great bike rental company.
Choice of three swimming pools but all are not heated. I’m a swimmer, after about 20 lengths I just got colder and colder. But fine for a cool down dip. My six and four year old did get in for a few minutes. They open late, 10am. I like to swim from 7.30/8am. So, if you’re after an early morning swim head for the sea.
We had a massive apartment, it was fantastic. All necessities for self catering. Our apartment was clean, however, day two the cleaners were at our door around 3pm on our return from a day out. So, we told them not to bother to clean our room so that we could go into it. They did leave us more loo roll and towels. So, our apartment wasn’t cleaned throughout our five night stay, but where our apartment was so spacious it felt clean and tidy anyhow.
Supermarket serves fresh rolls every morning and has a fair selection. Tasty fruit.
There needs to be more child friendly facilities, like a play park, but the Portuguese don’t seem to have them like we do in England.
Overall, it’s a basic hotel, but clean, pleasant and friendly staff.

It’s a lovely complex ..quiet and friendly with beautiful walks nearby.The food is very reasonable in the restaurant and the staff are so friendly. We have been staying here twice a year for the last 3 years and it feels like home to us . There’s a lovely welcome pack waiting on your arrival and the cleaning staff keep it lovely . The beach is about a mile walk but there a courteous coach twice a day to take you there and down to the harbour . All in all a great place to be .. Barbara Newman

Another great stay at the Mourabel 5th time at this hotel and we have just booked for Christmas week, we always book a Deluxe apartment T1 , everything you need is supplied, all staff friendly room clean ,big walk in shower and a lovely pool view, entertainment good , they must be doing something right when you meet people there you have met before year after year.

Basic hotel, tired room, towels that didn't dry me properly, lack of towels and toilet roll (sparse supplies) shower over the bath with a shower head that didn't fit the wall attachment so it kept moving, shower curtain which I hate, grounds not well kept/spare grass, muddy grass around the pool area, pool had lots of dead flies floating in the water - never seemed to be cleaned properly. Good points - lady on reception was helpful and the bar was cheap, and the staff were friendly. Buffet breakfast was okay, nice pastries and scrambled egg. 15 minute walk into town or free bus 3 times daily, flat walk into town.

We were allocated an appartment in Pe Do Lago which was clean and had everything we would need. Well that was until the next morning when workmen started using Kango hammer drills from 8.30 each morning which continued until 5pm each day. We went to reception and were told that the complex was booked out and they had no spare rooms to move us to. Not having availible funds to move to another hotel we had to stick it out. Worst Holiday experience ever.

Apartments are clean & the small upgrade for a renovated one in the main block was worth the small fee. They are extremely well equipped we had washing machine, full size fridge freezer, iron & board, hair dryer, extension lead (very few sockets) & loads of pans, even a casserole dish. however we both found the beds too firm & uncomfortable. Drinks are cheap at 3€ a pint & 2.60 for soft drinks. Snack bar food was nice. The only real thing we missed was having no terrace to sit out on. You either lie on sunbed or sit indoors. There's nothing around the area, no nice walks etc. Couple restaurants & a bar down the road that's it. Taxis everywhere, but I suppose the location is reflected in the price. Shuttle bus 3 times a day is great.

Apartment really nice and very clean. Hotel is a little out the way with a 30 minute walk to the Marina. Don’t go half board, it’s a set menu and the food is awful. 3 choices of a starter which includes fruit juice, 3 options for main, meat, fish or pasta and either the desert of the day or a coffee ( not both) Food was often cold and guests were opting to eat elsewhere.

This is good accommodation for the price. The staff are wonderful and can't do enough to ensure your comfort. We went half board and the food was a very good standard with the staff being VERY flexible as to the two meal daily allowance. The food served in the on site restaurant was really good. We had two 1 bed apartments and the only negative was that the bathroom in one apartment was a bit dated and the beds were really uncomfortable and low down and needed updating. The apartments just need a little updating but was essentially okay. The cleanliness was excellent throughout with good maid service.

Fabulous hotel staff will do anything to help at all We have stayed in a newly refurbished room absolutely lovely Great service with the shuttle bus to the Marina Best food local to the hotel us Chez Carlos it’s hidden away just 2 minutes away from the hotel
