This hotel is so beautifully restored and it’s in an ideal location, right next to the train station and the funicular to the hilltop Santa Luzia, in the heart of Viana do Castelo, yet quiet and peaceful. There are many lovely spaces to sit, chat, work, play games, in the common areas. There’s a pool and patio adjacent to the bar, which also serves as the breakfast room. Important for me, due to some mobility limitations: there’s an elevator. I stayed for five nights while my husband was walking the Portuguese Camino, and he took a rest day here and stayed two nights. Our room (202) was, I believe, a standard double room, but it was spacious and very comfortable. It was serviced daily and spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, there was space to unpack and a desk to organize my things (one small drawback being the limited number of outlets, leading me to have to charge my phone next to the sink, risking it getting wet), there was a soaking tub!, and a seating area looked out the window with a view of Santa Luzia (as well as some construction and renovation or maintenance on the railroad station 😊). Some earlier reviewers disparaged the breakfast provided. Something must have changed if their reviews were accurate (maybe their feedback inspired improvement), because the amount and variety offered was considerable: a variety of breads and cereals, spreads, cheeses, deli meats, yogurt, fruit, hard boiled eggs, hot scrambled eggs, bacon, plus juice, coffee, and tea. Quite an appetizing colorful display! The best feature of this hotel though is the incredible staff! Everyone was gracious and always willing to help, with a smile. Daniela and Alberta were especially attentive and helpful to me, and Rui went way “above and beyond” in helping me get train tickets, arranging a massage for my pilgrim husband when he arrived, attending to special requests, giving excellent restaurant recommendations, etc. My heartfelt thanks for all the help so readily and graciously given. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Surprisingly great experience. The reception staff was wonderful and went beyond the call to help us when my husband got sick. True, the hotel is not located in a beautiful area, and didn't look like much from the outside - but WOW when you entered the expansive lobby you have a beautiful view of the sea. We are seniors, driving on our own, so were looking for a hotel that didn't involve negotiating the city streets, served breakfast and had free parking on site. It was raining hard when we arrived, so were pleased to know there is a restaurant there as well. It was a 4e Uber ride into the charming town center. Viana do Castelo is lovely. The hotel specializes in large groups (there were several well behaved young futbol teams there during our stay). The breakfast buffet was plentiful and diverse. We had a sea view room, with a balcony and two lounge chairs....if only the weather had been better!

Das war ein schönes kleines Boutique-Hotel in der Nähe des historischen Zentrums. Wir wurden immer mit einem Lächeln begrüßt und nett behandelt. Ich habe ein Zimmer mit meinem Sohn geteilt und die Zwillingsbetten waren mehr als ausreichend. Das Hotel ist etwas älter, aber der Aufzug funktionierte großartig und das gesamte Gebäude wurde gut gepflegt und sauber. Mein einziges Höhle war da, es gab keine Außenseite, Sie müssen einen Schwimmkappe und Wasserschuhe für den Pool tragen und der Pool war in einem sehr heißen Zimmer im Inneren. Das kontinentale Frühstücksbuffet war gut und bietet viele Variante. Insgesamt haben wir unseren Aufenthalt wirklich genossen und würden hier nochmal bleiben!

Ich habe ein paar schöne Tage in diesem fabulösen und einzigartigen Hotel in Viana do Castelo mit meiner Schwester verbracht. Das Hotel ist auf der Grundlage einer alten Schokoladefabrik entworfen, um das Konzept der Schokolade herum. Die Zimmer sind thematisiert; wir haben in Roca geblieben, der Name für die Gebiete, in denen der Kakao gepflanzt und geerntet wird. Es kam mit einem kleinen Balkon mit Stühlen und Tisch, der schön war. Das Personal, wo alle wirklich hilfreich und nett, und arbeitete um unsere Bedürfnisse speziell beim Frühstück mit meiner Schwester, die ein paar allergische Anforderungen hatte und ich selbst benötigt verschiedene Zeiten aufgrund von weiteren Reisen und Teilnahme am Phase Portugal Zyklus Das Hotel war unspottlich sauber und sehr entspannt, es war schön, sich auf ein paar Abende zu sitzen und einen Tee und ein kaltes Schokoladegetränk zu genießen! Das Frühstück wurde an den Tischen serviert und war sehr gut mit einer Reihe von Gewürzen, Kuchen, Pancakes, Fleisch, Käse, Obst und eine Auswahl an Getränken, Getreide und vieles mehr. Wir liebten auch, um das Museum unten zu sehen; alles über die Geschichte von Schokolade mit vielen großen Informationen und Fakten und wenige Hand-on Elemente, wie die Herstellung eines Getränks des Schokoladegetränks Montezuma gewöhnt, 50 von einem Tag, wow! Der Shop neben der Rezeption hat eine Reihe von Schokoladegeschenken, die auf der Website gemacht sowie handgewählte externe Geschenke, die für jeden Schokoladeliebhaber geeignet sind! Die Lage war ideal für mich, in der Phase Portugal teilzunehmen, da es nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß zum Start des Rennens war. Es war auch sehr nahe dem Bahnhof und allen wichtigen Restaurants, Geschäften und kulturellen Gebäuden in der Stadt. Viana do Castelo ist ein wunderbarer Ort und das Monte Santa Luzia bietet wunderbare Aussichten über die Region und entlang der Küste. Insgesamt war es eine fantastische Erfahrung und ich würde gerne in der Zukunft zurückkehren und die Gegend mehr erkunden! Vielen Dank, dass Sie uns so willkommen fühlen.

Clearly the hotel has been recently renovated. Facilities are nice, simple, modern design. We stayed in a family room with bunks above the main bed which the kids loved. The pool is large with a beautiful lawn/lounger area next to the bar. The location is walking distance to the old town with a view over the bridge. Yes it is beside a fairly busy road but we didn't find it's problem. There is a limited amount of free parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast was a very nice buffet on the sixth floor. Service was friendly and welcoming. For the price we paid very good value. I don't understand why this is only a three Star hotel, presumably the lack of a restaurant. Definitely recommended.

Schönes Hotel, unglaubliches Zimmer, Lovell Service und eine solche Verbreitung für Frühstück! Ich kann mir nur vorstellen, dass dieses Hotel seine Preise einmal festgelegt erhöht, weil es wirklich zu billig ist, wie groß es ist. Ich hatte ein schönes Bad mit Blick. Der freundliche Mann am Rezeptionbüro ging zum ersten Mal aus und kaufte mir eine Banane (wie ich erwähnte, ich könnte eine statt Frühstück haben, wie ich früher verlassen musste). Erscheint sie das Frühstück bereitet und die Banana 😅 Alles in allem, erstaunlich bleiben und kann es nicht hoch genug empfehlen! Danke, dass Sie mich so komfortabel fühlen
