Ripples n Tonic Farmstay

We absolutely loved this place. We stayed here on our way from Sydney to Melbourne so that we could visit the penguins, but this place turned out to be the highlight. We had had a long drive to get there and the instructions for arrival were very clear. As soon as we arrived at our cottage (plover cottage) we were welcomed by the owners to ensure that we had everything we needed . My stepson is disabled so they wanted to ensure he had everything he needed. We were asked if he would like to feed the animals the next morning which he did want to so arrangements were made. All the rooms were comfortable with facilities and there was a washing in the room which was very handy. We explored a bit of the farm and saw the animals which much to my delight included guinea pigs who are my absolute favourite! The next morning true to their word we went round on the farm vehicle feeding the animals which my stepson loved. I would recommend this to anyone staying in the area we were made to feel so welcome and if you have children they will absolutely love it. This is one of the stand out memories of our trip.

This is the second time we came to Phillip Island, the late time was 10 years ago. So this time we try farm stay so our kids can get to stay near the farm animals. They love it. They get to know the animals as the staff will have a feeding session in the morning to introduce the animals. The room was okay as there was some issue with the toilet which cause some flooding. but was fixed in the end. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

We had a great 3 night stay at Ripples n Tonic with our 3 children (ages 5,5 and 6) and grandparents. The play area is set up well and entertained my kids from first light until dark, we also used the communal kitchen one night for a bbq whilst the kids continued to play. The animal feeding each morning also kept us busy and entertained. The staff were all great! We stayed in Hollydean cottage and it was large, warm and well equipped. Location was good - just couple minutes drive to Ventnor beach and 10 mins from Cowes & Penguin parade. Seeing our children enjoy the outdoors and animals so much was priceless. If we lived closer we’d be regulars for sure! What a great place!
