Spidsbergseter Resort Rondane

Great place for families. Lots of stuff to do and experience. Missing a fitness room, but thats coming in December. Swimming pool was a favourite with the kids. The place is still a bit of a mix between old style mountain hotel and resort, but you can see that they are improving it step by step.

We were hiking in the area and went to the hotel restaurant for Rømmegrøt and spekemat. The chef must have forgotten rømme (sour cream) in this batch, and the taste was quite bland. The spekemat was scarce as well. We have eaten here previously and, we are sorry to say, this time we went home disappointed

The hotel is in a beautiful area and most staff were very helpful. The XC skiing possibilities are endless. The room was a little tired and the walls are definitely thin. Unfortunatly we went low season and Im afraid the food was really poor when there were only a few guests staying. At the weekend the buffet looked amazing, unfortunatly we were not able to fully enjoy it as we had upset stomachs from eating something earlier in our stay. Would not stay again.

We had a room with a newly renovated bathroom and the room was very nice and cozy although tiny. The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great, however the evening meal has been poorly cooked….. it felt like being in a very cheap factory canteen. Furthermore, we got the feeling that speed was of essence, the food was served at a superspeed i.e. like a canteen…. and not like a restaurant. Since we did not spend a lot of time in the restaurant, we spend more time in the bar which we really liked. The rest of the location is also very nice.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Lots of well groomed trails straight from the hotel. The hotel itself is lovely and clean with friendly helpful staff. The food is outstanding and we had some lovely meals including reindeer, wild boar, venison and beef fillet, all cooked to perfection. There’s a nice Spa perfect to unwind in after a days skiing. There’s a couple of plunge pools in the Spa that are unused. Would be great if they made one into a cold plunge pool to use after the sauna. The facilities are great. You get a locker in the ski barn for your ski gear and racks to wax your skis. The hire shop has good quality equipment and staff are helpful in fitting you with equipment. Annie was our instructor and was great. Thank you for your patience. Gave us a great start to the holiday and checked up on us as the week went on. Thank you. She gave us some great tips such as the Skisporet app which is pretty essential after a fresh fall of snow. The rooms could do with updating particularly the shower rooms but they were very clean and adequate for our stay. The Aquavit bar was nice although a little expensive for us. Our host was great and informative about the history of Spidsbergsetter and Aquavit. In summary I highly recommend this hotel for outdoor adventure. Set in beautiful surroundings a lovely clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Thank you for a lovely week.

Отель для своего региона очень хороший, изоляция комнаты хорошая, кровать удобная , выспался после долгого пути. Ужин шикарный.любителям самим что то пожарить есть мангал, развлекательный ценндля детей есть, также бассейн понравится всем. Вид с отеля красивый:)

Nous étions deux personnes à avoir réservé l'activité chien de traineau et même si nous séjournions à une centaine de kilomètres nous voulions vraiment nous y rendre. On m'avait précisé qu'en cas d'annulation cela devait être 10 jours minimum avant mais on avait juste oublié de nous signifier que de leur côté ils ne se donneraient pas la peine de prévenir en cas d'annulation. C'est sur place que nous avons découvert que l'activité était annulée parce que le groupe qui devait venir avait annulé et que donc ce n'était plus rentable j'imagine. pas de mail envoyé , en insistant on nous a proposé un repas..A mon retour j'ai rédigé un mail pour expliquer, jamais reçu de réponse.Ce n'est pas l'idée que je me faisais de la droiture norvégienne.. Bref fuyez ! We were two people who booked the dog sledding activity and even though we were staying a hundred kilometers away we really wanted to go there. I was told that in case of cancellation it had to be at least 10 days before but we had just forgotten to tell us that on their side they would not bother to warn in case of cancellation. It was there that we discovered that the activity was canceled because the group that was supposed to come had canceled and therefore it was no longer profitable, I imagine. no email sent, insisting we were offered a meal.. On my return I wrote an email to explain, never received a response. This is not the idea I had of Norwegian righteousness.. In short, run away!
