"We stayed for 6 nights 28-Feb to 6-March-2026 booking through Heidi.com. We booked a double room, all inclusive. Everything was perfect. It was our first time to Vars and we were really impressed with both the hotel and the ski area. Vars is part of the larger ski area “La Forest Blanche” which it shares with Risoul. The ski area consists of around 185km of pistes and was more than enough for a 6 night holiday. The hotel is fully ski-in-and-out situated on the Melezes piste (blue). The ski area is great for all levels from beginner to intermediate to advanced. The hotel has only been open a few months so everything is very new. The staff were great, all very friendly, helpful and professional. A special mention to Oscar the barman and Albert in the restaurant, both of whom were very friendly and hard working and a real asset to the hotel. All the staff were great though and made for a very friendly atmosphere. We booked a standard double room and so were impressed to be given a good size room with a balcony overlooking the Melezes piste. The bed was king size and very comfortable. We had no issues with noise or hot water which some of the other reviewers mentioned. We booked the all inclusive option which included most drinks and all the food: breakfast, dinner and a packed lunch which you assembled yourself every morning. There were plenty of options for both breakfast and dinner and the food was really delicious. Breakfast included fresh pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages, continental options, cereals, pancakes, toast etc. For dinner there were 3 or 4 main options plus soup, salad bar, cooked meats and an impressive variety of desserts. Everything was delicious and there was a good variety of options which meant we never got tired or bored of the meal options. For lunch we were given takeaway boxes for us to select cakes, sandwiches etc to eat on the slopes. In terms of drinks the all inclusive included a cocktail of the day plus spirits and mixers and beers. The hotel has plenty of parking and you can drive up to the reception to drop your bags off etc. It was our first time to Vars and Risoul but we were really impressed with the ski area. It cost around 250 euros each for a 6-day ski pass. The ski area is beautiful and the pistes are interesting and varied. All in all we couldn’t fault the hotel or the staff and would highly recommend."
