Leaving a positive review even though this place just wasn’t for us. We typically travel and stay and B&B’s across the US, Europe, and Latin America, so for what it’s worth here’s our review: The pros: the beach is just a short walk down the boardwalk and Megan provides chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. There is also a private pool overlooking the bay. The savory breakfast was great. The cons: We felt very confined by the owner’s schedule and think Megan is more hands on than we are used to or comfortable with. For example, breakfast is right at 8:30am, and check in is from 3-6. When we travel, we like to sleep in, or have more of a casual schedule. We felt somewhat rushed out on our check out day - cleaning supplies waiting outside our door and owner reminding us several times of the check out time of 11. We do not believe the host was trying to be rude, rather the opposite, but you could tell she runs a tight ship, and expects everyone to be at breakfast on time and eat what is served (the Owner made a comment to another guest we were sitting with for not finishing her meal, and then praised her partner kudos finishing his breakfast - for a moment it felt like we were kids again? They were clearly embarrassed). I truly do not mean to throw the owner under the bus, but it’s important she understand how her behavior can make guests feel uncomfortable. Lastly, The sand dollar room was adorable and would be cute for one person, perhaps a teenager traveling with their parents. For 2 adults it was terribly small. No where to our suitcases or clothing. My husband fell in the bathtub bruising his back and elbow. We recommend the hosts put a handle bar to step in or a grippy may for standing. For $300 a night we will rent a vacation home next time where we can go on our own schedule, eat what we wish, and have more space.
