La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tucumcari

The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. The room was a little pricy $170, but it was comfortable, very clean and with seemingly new furnishings. The only issues is that the beds were too hard for me but this is a preference not really a hotel issue, but there isn’t a lot of stuff on the walls or drapes (room darkening shade) which left a loud echo in the room. There was a banging/popping sound periodically like metal tapping metal, that woke me and was very annoying. We couldn’t find the source of it but thought it may be from the high winds or the AC. The AC was VERY loud. When it would come on, you had to turn the TV up, when it went off, the TV was blasting and you had to turn it down. Breakfast had good options and I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy!

The room we reserved is pictured with a sofa, however there was only 1 chair so filthy and worn I would not sit in it (see photo). Also we were in a pet friendly room, the deodorizer they use is so strong it gave me an instant headache. On a positive note the bed was comfortable.

We made great time and got to the hotel around noon and they let us check in early! I greatly appreciate that since my whole family was extremely tired from. Long day of traveling

The wood floors and wood panels in the elevator were old and deteriorating. The elevator was very small and smelled smoky. The same wood floors in our bathroom were deteriorating and the sink didn’t drain properly.

It was a decent hotel for the money. It had a very strong smell, mostly in the hallway. The room was fine though so that’s more important to me anyway! The bed was very comfy and even though you can hear everything in the hallway, we slept very well! Breakfast was pretty good, and the staff were wonderful and friendly.

Bed was good but smelled a little like the guy who slept there before me. Floor in the bathroom was dirty around the edges. A couple of long black hairs on the bathroom sink. No juice at breakfast but good eggs.

Renovated hotel, rather cheaply done. However, it was clean and comfortable. Front desk person was very friendly and helpful. They didn’t used to charge for pets but the fee was more reasonable than some others. I would stay here again.

Excellent LaQuinta! Nice bedding and mattress. Room was very clean. Had no carpet, was newer laminate floor. We will stay here again

This was the nicest La Quinta I’ve stayed at. First pet friendly hotel with zero pet odor and room was spotless.
