La Fragua II

We stayed for 1-night at Hotel La Frangua II in Trevelez (€75). While located at the top of a small Spanish village, the hotel was not that difficult to find. The first trick was to ignore the GPS – it led us into tiny, very steep dead-end lanes. Simply drive up the main road (it is an easy 2-lane) to the T-intersection at the very top. The left leads to a bridge across the river and on to Pampaneira. The right leads immediately to a small plaza – there is a small sign at the end saying the hotel is a further 150 m. We parked and walked to find the hotel's exact location, then came back to drive the car through the final narrow lanes – no problem. The hotel is a long 2-floor building with all of the rooms facing the valley. Ours, although dated, was large & comfortable, with a 2-single beds pushed together, side tables, a small desk & chair, 2 upholstered chairs & small table with coffee supplies, an odd looking couch that could serve as an extra bed, tiny TV, large closet, but no mini-refrigerator or safe. The bathroom was large, with a small vanity, and a bathtub/shower. There was a large deck facing the valley, with a couple of chairs and table, a nice spot for an afternoon drink. I didn't see any heat controls, but there was radiant heating from the floors that kept the room cozy during our rather chilly visit. The hotel had a nice pool overlooking the valley, unfortunately closed in the cool weather. La Frangua offered a good breakfast and also owned a restaurant just down the street that served an excellent, reasonably priced selection of local delicacies. We didn't see much of the town – places were mostly closed this early in the season – but it struck me as a pleasant one to explore. In summary, a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel in a pleasant small town if traveling the mountain route between Granada and Nerja and looking for something a bit different.

Lugar maravilloso, tranquilidad, naturaleza, vecinos muy cordiales. Si quieres disfrutar de un pasaje típico de la alpujarra granaina no conozco un lugar mejor. Repetiremos escapada con total seguridad pues hemos recibido un trato exquisito por parte del personal. Además en el restaurante se come muy bien y los camareros muy atentos y simpáticos

El hotel nos ha parecido increíble, la habitación muy espaciosa y limpia, las camas muy cómodas, las vistas espectaculares y el trato excelente, el desayuno muy rico y variado, zumo de naranja, frutas, bizcocho, tostadas con mantequilla, patés, embutido, todo muy bueno, hemos salido muy satisfechos y contentos por todo, si volviera otra vez lo elegiría sin dudar

Un lugar increíble en Trevélez por ser un establecimiento muy cuidado, con muy bonitas vistas y un servicio de 5 ESTRELLAS. No podéis iros sin disfrutar la piscina, que, no es un misterio que el verano ayuda mucho, pero por el lugar donde se sitúa el hotel adquiere un carácter único en el lugar. Yo repetiría sin dudarlo
