Central Gallery Rooms- Palazzo d'Ali' Staiti XIX

Very nice. Large spacious room with a great sea/beach view, quiet, blackout shutters, and good shower. I'm here in early May but I think it would make for a good summer vacation because of the beach across the street and busy pedestrian area around the corner. The breakfast was excellent with an attentive and amusing staff. I would return. The building has a red brick front. See picture taken from the beach. You need to ring a bell to get in when you first arrive. Reception is staffed until about 10pm. If you are arriving after 8pm, I would recommend calling ahead to confirm arrival. They speak good English. Maybe gooder then mine.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a large sea facing room with also a large well equipped bathroom. The hotel was a bit tricky to find but once there the reception was very helpful with explaining the on street parking just outside and that worked well for the stay. Breakfast was in a smallish cafe within the hotel/apprtment block and could get quite busy as there are not a lot of tables. The offering was OK..not excellent just OK. I would recommend this hotel.

Our arrival on February 15, 2023 by bus from Palermo - the 10 minute walk and check-in at Central Gallery Rooms was good. We stayed in the 'blue room' facing the sea. The view from 3 windows and balcony was wonderful. The room is large. There is a hot water kettle for tea and instant coffee including a complimentary large bottle of water. No shampoo or hand wash cloth is provided in the spacious bathroom & shower. It took 12 minutes for the hot water to come on in the sink and shower. Not good! The lock to the blue room door got stuck every time we left the room and tried to lock the entrance door. It needs to be fixed. There is not a desk for a computer and to write on for messages or postcards. The 2 reception guys spoke very good English. They were courteous. We were given a card for 2 complimentary glasses of prosecco. The snack bar opens at 6PM. Breakfast is from 7-10AM. The breakfast area is on the ground floor with the reception. Breakfast consisted of sandwiches, cake, pastries, fresh made yogurt, toast, coffee, cappuccino and tea. No eggs which Americans prefer. Note: all rooms are on the first floor. There are residential apartments on the other 2 floors and businesses (a hair salon) on the ground floor adjacent to the breakfast area. A 2 Euro per person nightly local tax fee does not take effect until March 23, 2023. However, a receptionist charged the fee until we told him to remove it. The informaion was included by ********** on our confirmation receipt concerning the tax.
